The power bat: CF Kyle Clement (.355, .503 slugging, led Cajuns in hitting two straight seasons)
The season so far: The Cajuns were 12-9 in late March but won every weekend series from then on including eight straight Sun Belt series to catch season-long front-runner South Alabama and share the regular season title. UL swept four games to win the Sun Belt Tournament and enters the NCAA tied with Coastal Carolina for the nation’s longest winning streak (10 games).

The season so far: The Tigers, coming off a 7-32 2015 in which only two Division I teams nationally won less games, went 13-7 in the Ivy League and won the final two games of the League Championship Series over rival Yale.
