It would not surprise me. Home values in parts of California are much higher than in Memphis. Folks moving from CA may have quite a bit of equity to contribute to a house in Memphis.

Here, Pacific Posers make you pay to bury them across your property--thousands of dollars depending on how many poles.

Yea it is expensive. Estimated cost for running utility lines underground is $1M a mile. Above ground routing is about $150K/mile, utilities also earn a return (leasing space on the pole) on above ground lines.

Most utilities can't justify the extra costs based on aesthetics. Usually only rich areas have enough money to spend on stuff like that.

The house is still under the "CT Insp - Inspection Contingency" status.
