Im going to go with SMU in a close one

SMU will finally have some depth on their team. A word that hasnt been said about SMU in a longgggggg time!

I look for SMU to come out and upset Baylor in the first week of the season! Cant wait!

I say in the first two games, we'll see how good this team really does this season. 2-0 Start Unbelieveable. 1-1 Start Better than usually. 0-2 Looks like we're back to where we started.

This is a home opener for the bigger, faster and (for a change) more experienced Mustangs, SMU get a strong start and wins by 8.

Yeah, Baby!

I think we romp them... pay back for that loss at their stadium.

UNT beat Baylor 52-14 at home. That team beat us 10-7, and Colorado.

Last year, Baylor wooped UNT 27-14 at their place. They also lost 56-14 to UAB on the Road.

Baylor SUCKS on the road ... we had a 3-2 record at home last year.

I look for SMU's offense to have a San Jose and Tulsa like game.

So my prediction...

SMU: 38
Baylor: 21

A nice 1-0 start ... and I predict we will finish 1-1 (.500) in the Big XII for the first time ever.

If we can beat Baylor, the TCU game will be PACKED. That's 2 games with 25k-32k people.

Also, I don't think aTm will kill us. I think they will beat us by 17 or so ... but since Bennett was an Aggie- I don't see them running up the score. That weird loyalty stuff. If we are 2-1, Tulane is Family Weekend -- and that game could draw 20k+ ... If nothing else, I see attendance improving a ton next year with this move.

I am saying we can be 3-1 to start or 2-2, which would be 180 degrees from the last three years. A competitive September would be fantastic way to re-energize the team and fan base.

04-cheers

I hate to say this, but damnit, we've been saying the same thing for 15 years in our preseason hype. I'd be thrilled with a 1-2 nonconference start!!

Anyone remember Baylor not throwing for an entire game against us in the early 90s when we were still at Ownby? I think Baylor will have improved more than our beloved Ponies. It hurts to predict this but here it goes:

Baylor 23
SMU 16

Lots of field goals in this one I'm afraid.

Ugliest game I've ever seen was our 10-7 loss to the Bears in Waco '03. Glad I had a designated driver getting back to Austin that night!!

I say you beat Baylor with ease. I think C-USA will help
your recruting and you'll be a threat to win the West in 2006.
