If I plan a 3 day trip around a basketball tournament and my team is bounced on the first day then I'd like to be able to salvage the trip by doing other things. CUSA basketball isn't compelling enough for me to spend two more entire days watching the remainder of the tournament.

Which is why buying tickets 1 round at a time would work for me.

I thought UAB/Birmingham wasn't going to bid if the host city team didn't get prime time game. Has this changed back?

That's what I thought as well. Unless the format is changing back to the host school getting to play in the evening.

That's what I thought as well. Unless the format is changing back to the host school getting to play in the evening.

Don't know...either the format reverted, UAB is being a "team player" or the ODU AD's expecting a bid out of UAB isn't accurate.

FYI just announced via Chad Bishop that the host won't be decided on until the June meetings. Maybe we'll at least find out who is putting in bids.

UAB and UTEP are the two finalists. Presidents will decide in June.

& don't expect that big attendance at UTEP.

Hard enough to get a decent crowd in Birmingham.

I hear you ATL. I guess im wired different. Even after we were bounced I attended every game and had a blast. I overdosed on basketball. Watching MTSU win was exciting. Wished it was us but I had a great time and I hate so many people stayed away.

Wherever it is I will watch every game I can.

Then host the tournament in the most boring, cheapest city. Why care where it's going to be if you are not going to see or do anything else.

Things may have changed. Coach Haase had told me they weren't going to put in as attractive of a bid, unless we were guaranteed the prime time slot. Last year, we put in the bid, expecting the prime time slots, like the previous 20 C-USA basketball tournaments. The format changed after we bid. Course, other places may not put in as attractive of a bid, given the change in format.
