Is it true that JMU has an athletic operating budget of over $47 million? Is this a "money game" for ETSU?

Congratulations to JMU! That was a fantastic game Saturday. That is a dream of all FCS teams in America and I was thrilled to see it. We would love to be that good in a few years.

47,442,600 total athletic, 9.2 for football. I belive ESPN said ECU had a 11 mil football budget.

JMU is always in the discussion when projecting the next shake up. But, it seems that moving up to FBS has lost much of its luster given the hit that the Group of Five have taken financially of recent. The Power Five folks have stormed off and left them --- in essence, creating another NCAA division. Now it looks like the Group of Five will be searching for "money games" similar to the FCS schools -- like App State at Georgia, Ga Southern at Auburn, et al this past weekend. My, my -- the more things change, the more they remain the same.

Hey guys, just dropping in to wish you luck for this weekend. In 1994 I left home for my freshman year at JMU then three days later my parents called to tell me that they were moving to Johnson City (adiós in state tuition!). I spent several summers and winter holidays in Johnson City and even went to a playoff game in the Minidome once so I was disappointed when I saw that ETSU dropped their football program. Glad you guys got your program back (and glad you got something better than the Mindome).

Anyway "tl;dr": hope you guys visit Harrisonburg this weekend for the game and have a great time!
