Agreed. Purdue has the nicest basketball arena I've ever been in.

You may say - really? Because it's neither historic nor brand new, and doesn't have super-dee-dooper club seats. But the concessions/restrooms are bountiful, the concourses are wide, the noise is incredible, and every single one of the 14,856 seats has a great view. The worst seat in the house is better than over half the seats at 5/3.

Ross-Ade Stadium had pluses and minuses.

Plus was plenty toilets. The Ben's Amish Inspired Soft Pretzels were good but skip the Land of Lakes overly salty cheese for $1 extra. Parking in lot T (Golf Course) was very close.

Minus was I did not see any recognition of past star players.

RE: Purdue roadtrip - show other P5's we travel
Went with my dad ('72 UC grad) and brother. Parked in a front yard a couple of blocks from the stadium for $10 (probably beer/keg money for students living there)...can't beat that! Crowd was small (for a 62,000 seat stadium) and the stadium was kind of drab but the food selection was good and the fans were nice (they are tired of their coach and frustrated with their program - but they didn't take it out on us). There was a good UC fan turnout (good amount of red walking into the stadium) and had some good conversations with UC and Purdue fans around us in section 103. Tickets were a good price and had a good view of the game. I'm not convinced about the team yet. The "young" DBs didn't look good and seemed to get burned some. I think the Purdue QB (Blough) bailed us out but maybe it was due to good DB play (this is backtracking my previous statement but I haven't analyzed the game). Tuberville was on Alex Thomas all day so maybe he made amends with the Int at the end of the game. Our O line held up pretty well. We looked like the better and faster team and our size was at least as good as Purdue's. I will take a road win against a Big10 opponent. I don't think we will be able to run as much against Houston though, especially around the outside. We will learn more about our team on Thursday.

Went to an Irish pub (9 Brothers) after and they were happy to have us - met a couple of retired Purdue alums that were from Cincy but have moved to Utah and Illinois - good guys who root for UC too (and smart guys!). Had some good food and good beer, got a Starbucks coffee from around the corner and headed back home. I'd love to see more series scheduled with teams within 3ish hours of Cincy - with grade school kids, its easier to be gone a day for a game than overnight (I know the wife appreciated it). There are my 2 pennies.

I got a parking pass from a former business associate who has banking interests in the area.
