I'm not really interested in driving into Chicago on a weeknight either. I might try the bus trip. It's a lot faster to get to Dekalb from Aurora/Naperville than it is getting to the Cell.

I've been to every game for quite a while now. I sat (or stood) through the miserably cold game against WMU a few years back. I went to the Soldier Field games. The fact is that casual fans will use these same excuses and actually will not go. We've seen it happen - every year. What's so hard to understand?

On a side note, I wonder how many of our season ticket holders live in Chicago.

With our ****** fan base SF has to try something different. If we have more than 5k than we would in Dekalb (over the last couple of years) the game is a complete success. Which I think we will. +16 for me and that's more than double when we were undefeated with JL.

SF does need to try something(s) different. However a weeknight game in Chicago in November against a MAC opponent is not the answer. I doubt that this will work and I hope the program makes enough money to cover the extra costs they will incur.

Just bought 4 tickets!!!!! Don't care if NIU is winless, I will still cheer them on while double fisting beers. Bought club level seats, looks like most of the club level seats have been purchased.

Ive done both (in a sense). its still challenging. if u come from burbs..its metra to downtown, the walk to redline...the redline from downtown to 35th. its cheap but time consuming...and it leaves u clock watching so you can hopefully just make the 1040 train and not get stuck on 1240 train.

the direct metra is nice if u live along the Mokena / Tinley park line...otherwise its truly not convenient if you live elsewhere

Personally, I'm not very happy about the location of this game. I've driven to DeKalb hundreds of times and would do it again at the drop of a hat. But, go to Sox Park on a Tuesday night in November? No way. Not for me.
My method of determining no interest in Aurora is by the number of "W" flags flying around the neighborhood, not Huskie flags. Plus, I haven't heard any talk in the restaurants or bars of trying to obtain tickets to the sold-out NIU-Toledo football game at US Cellular Field in November.
Prove me wrong. I hope this game is a HUGE success for NIU. I hope we win and have a packed stadium, however; I'll be watching it on TV.

Good for you! I work in the city every day. I would not take public transportation if you paid me. It is not safe. I drive to work for a reason. Do you read the papers or watch the news? I see characters on the street every day that make me wish I carried a gun. If you feel safe, good for you. My experience tells me otherwise.

It's not scary or risky... For previous Sox games we have parked(free) at wings and rings and walked to the stadium(they have a shuttle but it leaves for the park so early). Always stopping at 35th St Red Hots or Morrie O'Malleys..or both

We are bringing the band which was increased to 250 members this year so its a big loud band now! Our Alumni organization also reserved the club room inside the stadium for our alumni tail gate and that holds 400 people. I bet we will bring a couple thousand give or take.

I carry my gun when I need to take the train (usually getting to court) and I still don't feel completely comfortable on the train.
