I don't approve of 'convincing' crossdresser's or trans people in the bathroom that doesn't match their equipment, but this is by far the simplist solution to a problem that doesn't exist

RE: More than 500,000 boycott Target over transgender bathroom policy
I haven't signed on to the boycott because it would feel disingenuous for me to do so. You see a while back Target got involved in another hot button leftist issue, guns, and released a statement asking for people not to bring guns into their store. I have complied with their wishes and haven't set foot in Target since.
In the time since I have been to Walmart maybe six times, only because they were either what was open at the time I really needed something or on a trip they were the only realistic option.

Maybe not but I think that would be missing the point.

I'm the same way.
I like that they are boycotting but it wouldn't be right for me to sign up. I don't shop there.

Yea, but we're to believe Target won't give a schit.
They're probably going to hunker down and hope this blows over. I wouldn't be so sure.
Any of these petitions is only going to represent a tiny fraction of like minded folks, this may indeed spiral completely out of their control.

sales are down, they are rolling out the $10 min wage, and now this one. we'll see how the market reacts come earnings time. I'll still go there as the Wal-Mart near me is trash.
Same. The walmart near me feels like I'm shopping in a 3rd world country.
Not that I really care about the issue at hand in either direction, but I don't know the last time I went to the bathroom in a department store. Maybe never honestly. Their facilities could be a hole in the ground in the shipping bay or a luxurious spa-like facility and it wouldn't make a difference to me because I'm not going to be in a Target long enough to go to the bathroom anyway.
And yet people would have you believe that someone is just waiting in the restroom to film you dropping a load.
Said no one, ever.
And anyone with kids knows finding a bathroom can sometimes be a damn near emergency situation. So, I'm there and my 6 YO daughter has to go pee-pee, and some dude can waltz right on in, when I, as her Father have to wait outside (if, for no other reason than common courtesy)?!? Some of you don't see something a little f#$%ed up about that?
You let your 6 year old go into the restroom by herself? Screw that crap. I take my daughter into the men's with me.
It was actually a hypothetical, really. My daughter was 6, or whatever age when we started sending her to the bathroom alone, long enough ago that we certainly didn't worry about this kind of ridiculous, needless, crap.
If a dude tried to follow her in while I was at the door, there would have been an unfortunate situation afoot. Now? She kick that ass herself, tough kid.

They are in a corner... The morons could have done this without all the flack. Find a state in which there is a target store bound by law and simply say you have to do it there and decided one policy is best for the company.
Done..

I'm not nearly as concerned with a Target boycott as I am concerned about a boycott of North Carolina. We have driven out the movie industry, major corporations aren't expanding, the hospitality industry is losing all kinds of business and the most financially significant event in the state, the High Point Furniture markets' twice yearly event has had many, many cancellations. It is bad people.

Target has made them the avenue to express the outrage many feel over this idiotic bathroom issue. They might not regret it, but I sense they will.

what is it with "personal liberty" conservatives trying to insist that they have the right to bring guns on other peoples property?

Funny thing... Because of the law signed in NC Targets there can *choose* to let people use whatever restroom and a Christian Book store can choose to manage their access by biological gender....
So much for "pro-choice" democrats.

well he sure felt slighted over it which I find hilarious and quite pathetic. also republicans including on this forum have tried to insist on this. there was a case in TN where a company banned workers from having guns on company property and there was a whole court case on it.

According to the UN, we live in a world where 21,000 people starve to death on an average day. That's about a person every 4 seconds.
It blows my mind that this country is so far removed from how the rest of the world lives that we've resorted to fighting over who can pee where. Shame on everyone.*
*By "everyone," I mean society as a whole, not the posters here.

Does it not bother you that people want to use economic warfare against you to force you to have the rules and live the way they want you to live?

Personally, I think all these states boycotted should start boycotting cities like New York and San Francisco that boycott them. It will hurt NY and SF more.
It also might put an end to the nonsense.
