Hello Dukes fans,

Sorry if this solicitation is annoying to some but I think this is something you all will enjoy. Myself and Kevin Albright, former JMU Men's Basketball Manager/Grad Assistant/Video Coordinator are putting together a JMU Alumni team for "The Basketball Tournament". Our team is "The Founding Fathers"

"The Basketball Tournament" is a public 64-team tournament in which anybody (literally) can enter a team. The winning team of the tournament gets $2 million to distribute amongst its team members and fans (voters). In order to get in the tournament though, we need fan votes and I hope you guys can and are willing to help us out because it will be super cool to see so many former exciting JMU players back on the court together. Currently, we have Ron Curry, AJ Davis, Julius Wells and Rayshawn Goins on the roster with Kyle Swanston to be officially on the roster in the coming days and a few more additions in the coming week. Additions we know you will enjoy.

The most important thing at this point is to vote for us to get in. We all know JMU is super good at stuffing the ballot box so let's keep that going. In order to vote simply go to our team page at this link and then click the red box on the right to create an account and vote.

As a fan you, too, can win a portion of the prize money if we win. The more people you personally recruit to vote, the more points you get and the more amount of money you have the chance to win. All that is explained at the bottom of the info link above.

We are super excited about bringing back so many JMU Alumni to represent JMU on the court again and we hope you guys will support us and help get the word out. Get your family to vote, friends to vote, coworkers to vote, share on social media, etc.

Played his heart out every minute of every game. And no that is not a pun or a jab at the heart ailments he had later in his career. James is the type of player where even if he was playing against us, I would have respected the heck out of him for how he played.

Currently sitting in #28 but ~300 votes back from magic #12 spot.

The team is going to need to hit the social media hard. Curry has 1,400 followers but need Warner or Dudley to pick it up (looks like @JMUAlumni didn't bite).

Would be smart to add Denzel Bowles to the roster- not only could he give them a real shot to win the whole thing on the court but he has 60K twitter followers and some pretty rapid fans in Asia who I'm sure would vote multiple times and get the team in the Tournament.

We have added Humpty Hitchens to the roster and 49ers RB DuJuan Harris as a team booster. I'm sure many on this board have already voted but please continue to spread the word if you can. We are 13th in our region of the eligible teams and need to be top 12 to be guaranteed in. We are making one final push before June 1st. Thanks for everything so far. We really appreciate it.

Also, Denzel was already committed to another team when we reached out to him.

Yes that is true. I ended up using all my current and old emails to place 8 votes.
