I agree that Brady might end up being better off red shirting and having plenty of time to heal and rehab. Regardless, he is a fine player and I wish him a speedy and complete recovery.

Brady has already used a redshirt year. I don't know if the NCAA would grant him a 6th year for his injury.

It's becoming more and more common. Not a guarantee and you can't apply for the waiver until after your 5th year is gone. So we don't know. But if he keeps in good academic standing - including graduating and staying in school - very possible he could get the 6th year.
