Meh, not excited about the hire but it is what it is. Better than Paz but not sure this point in his career by how much.

Don't think this hire will do much to move the needle with the bulk of the fan base.

Gotta agree. I'll admit, I gave Josh the benefit of the doubt probably much too long. As of January, I started to believe that a change was necessary. Now that he's gone and the Tigers are moving forward, I'm excited as hell to get on with it.

Thats 6 NCAA tourneys and most of that time was spent at Minnesota and TT. Two recruiting Death Valley programs.

Sounds pretty impressive in context.

Well...he's definitely no Gregg Marshall and i highly doubt GM was ever in play for the Memphis job or was ever interested.

Good solid hire, racking my brain to try and come up with a valid down side and just don't see it. I also will not be upset if it doesn't happen. I think Tubby still has a fire and wants to get back in with the big boys and the Memphis job will get him there much quicker than Texas Tech. And one last thing 64 AINT OLD!

But is there a reason he could only get jobs at Minnesota and TT ? Not exactly BB juggernauts.. I've never heard his name come up for any big Job that has come open in the past few years!! I Like Tubby but I don't care for this hiring at all!!

If you want a Big Name in the college basketball world, Tubby Smith is right in there. With the right recruiter, selling Orlando "Tubby" Smith, we could get back to the tournament and past the first weekend.

So, I'm open to giving him a chance. It could be a good deal.

Great points! This is a great basketball job. TT not at all a good basketball job. Probably the worst job in the big 12. I like this hire, if indeed it goes through.

I actually am too. I'm just concerned about two things. His desire to recruit and all that entails, especially in this area. And our leadership which is pretty much a den of comfusion
