Figured his getting a 6th year was a longshot. But I kind of doubt the NCAA would have responded this quickly. Maybe they decided not to ask for it. Maybe they did request it but technically he is not a member of next year's team until another year is approved. I believe he was honored on senior night, which suggests we didn't believe he would be back.

Bummer if he can't make it back. Seemed like a great kid.

Billings, Hill, Isom, Jackson, Johnson, Osse, Shoshi, Watkins

As things stand right now, we will have EIGHT scholarship seniors, including three redshirt seniors, plus Moorman and Brandsma on the roster this season. I doubt we will ever see that situation again.

RE: No Green
You don't normally want that to happen. The ideal is to balance the classes, but that's hard to do today with kid's transferring, etc. With some luck, we should have another really good year this year, but of course there is no guarantee. We had best do some heavy duty recruiting for season after this one. Obviously Wes knows this, and I'm sure they're already working on that.

Right now I'm looking forward to have another great season next year. I'll let the coaches worry about what happens after that. I think Wes will be able to recruit very well and we have, at least, 2 freshman coming in for next season. I think the future looks bright.

We need to build on this past season. Our national recognition has grown with the great upset win over Purdue. Let's keep it going.

No surprise there. Daniel coming back would be good news.

I don't know how many we'll have to sign next year, but I would assume half jucos and half freshmen. At least that would probably be the goal. It might not work out that way.

I believe Coach F. mentioned something about there still being a possibility of Green playing. Let's hope he gets another chance.04-cheers

As things stand right now we would have Burns and the four incoming players.

RE: No Green
I believe the roster is wrong. It lists Black, Watkins and Moorman as Seniors. If understand correctly, Black will be a redshirt Sophomore and Watkins and Moorman will be redshirt Juniors.

My wife talked to Daniel last night. He doesn't know if he will be able to play next year. So I assume no one else knows either.

NCAA is not known for speed in decision making.

Mickey you were pleased with Shields. One thing about you, you aren't hard to please as long as you like the coach. Flannigan hasn't coached a game yet.

But look at the glass half full. He's undefeated as a D1 head coach.04-cheers

The glass is empty, he hasn't won any and hasn't lost any. In fact he's lost less games than Beard did. But, he's also won 30 less.
