HUGE home to first double play with the bases juiced to end the 5th! Wow. Defense came to play in a big way today.

Whitman Barnes enters for Cory Gantz after 7+ solid innings. 1 earned run (responsible for the runner currently at first) on 7 hits, 4 K's and just 1 walk, 103 pitches thrown. Looks like we're well settled on our Sunday guy now!

6-1 Seahawks, top 8th.

Barnes gets out of it. 3 more defensive outs from a BIG sweep!

Well, I'm certainly glad the fellas bailed me out of a jam too. Had we lost this series the ribbing surely would have intensified around here. Huge sweep for the Seahawks. The weather was beautiful for today's game too. I missed about 4 innings of it though because my boy and his friends couldn't sit still to save their lives.

I was also blessed to be a guest of an unnamed WM athletics coach today. You all can joke, but I'm convinced there's not a classier opponent in the conference across all sports. It is truly a pleasure to live here and interact with them and at the same time take in UNCW sports, and most importantly... UNCW wins!

Gant pitched well and was the beneficiary of a couple of key twin killings by the Hawk defense.

I would say a few. The diving grab at 1st, K-Mac's catch in shallow left, and his own magic in the double play to get out of the bases loaded jam. The bats showed up nicely today. Overall, an absolute gem!
