Just wondering, when Coach Ehsan's son is born any day now would it be the 1st time that a coach at UAB had a child while they were head coach?

I don't recall any other instances in basketball (men or women) or football.

At our house, we consider the hire to have a favorable sign. XBBHC Haase has a son with the same name as our grandson in Indiana - Gavin,who is Sept to Feb younger than Gavin Haase. Now we have a coach whose daughter is Ketelyn, the same spelling as our granddaughter who is married to a Marine and has moved to San Diego. It all looks promising so far.

The only one in those sports who would come close would be Murry, and I think all of his kids were already born when he became coach.

Once you become a head coach in a major sport, you don't have time to make kids.

Ha! Coach Haase's kids were very young when he was hired, right?

Yep, thinking about it age was probably a big factor.

We have hired somewhat older coaches in most of the major sports.

Haase's kids were a few years old when he was hired.

I think Marla has adapted a few kids since she became softball coach.
