Sanders feeling media heat after new interview
http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/05/politics/b...aily-news/

Los Angeles (CNN)Bernie Sanders' interview with the New York Daily News ahead of the state's primary later this month didn't go as planned.

The Vermont senator's April 1 sit down with the paper's editorial board, a transcript of which was published Monday, showed him having difficulty clearly answering some questions about both foreign and domestic policy, including the implementation of his much-touted plan to reform Wall Street.
Sanders: Clinton is 'funded by Wall Street'
Several times during the interview, Sanders expressed uncertainty over facts, said he couldn't give a proper answer to a question because he didn't have all the relevant information, or simply stated, "I don't know."

In one exchange, Sanders acknowledged that he wasn't sure exactly how he intended to break up the big banks, a proposal that has been a centerpiece of his Wall Street reform agenda.

The Daily News Editorial Board interviewed Sen. Bernie Sanders, Democratic candidate for President, on April 1 in the offices of the newspaper in downtown Manhattan.

I saw that. You'd think he would've come up with a plan for one of the central themes of his campaign.

His supporters don't give a damn about any concrete plans. It's all marketing for Sanders. Same can be said for other candidates as well.

Hillary's people tweeted the story out to their followers. Trump and Hillary should win NY easily.

Hillary is very nervous about NY. Losing in her "own state" would be a complete cluster for them.

Trump has a better chance of getting Mexico to pay for a wall than Bernie has of breaking up the big banks.

She's always been up double digits. But that lead has dwindled in the past month. Emerson had her up +41 in early March, and Sienna had her up +21 since the beginning of the year til early March.

Quinnipiac had her lead cut to +12 as of a week ago, and CBS has her lead cut to +10 as of a few days ago.

Thats why she abandoned Wisconsin and has been camped out in NY for the last 10 days.

Has anyone stated any concrete plans for what they're going to do? Not an excuse for Sanders, but still. I don't think we really know what any of these people are going to do.

I'm for the breaking up of the big banks.

I am not surprised one bit that useless POS doesn't know jack about how to actually go about it.

And none of them can tell us what they are going to do, because none of the stuff they say they're going to do can possibly happen, or work if it did happen. It's truly the crazy season.

Yep, not sure which is more laughable, listening to the candidates or listening to their die hard followers. Comedic relief is always a plus.

Sure. But I'd wager millions more weigh the options, try to know the issues and make informed decisions. Sometimes it's about the best candidate, not the perfect candidate.

Do I expect Sanders to have an etched-in-stone plan for everything he's going to do? No. But a president's job isn't to come up with a nuts and bolts plan, in my opinion. It's to express a broader vision and lead the country to where it wants to be. Do big banks need to be broken up? I think so.

By the way, if you watch Sanders most of the time he doesn't say "I." He says "we." As in us.

And for what it's worth, that interview wasn't bad. Sanders is starting to get the Trump treatment by establishment media. Blowing up whatever imperfections they find to make the road easier for those they think are more moderate or mainstream or whatever the word is ... palatable, maybe.

Here's a start:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass%E2%8...egislation

"The term Glass–Steagall Act usually refers to four provisions of the U.S. Banking Act of 1933 that limited commercial bank securities, activities, and affiliations within commercial banks and securities firms. Congressional efforts to "repeal the Glass–Steagall Act" referred to those four provisions (and then usually to only the two provisions that restricted affiliations between commercial banks and securities firms). Those efforts culminated in the 1999 Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act (GLBA), which repealed the two provisions restricting affiliations between banks and securities firms.

The Glass–Steagall Act also is used to refer to the entire Banking Act of 1933, after its Congressional sponsors, Senator Carter Glass (D) of Virginia, and Representative Henry B. Steagall (D) of Alabama.

In 1998, President Bill Clinton publicly declared "the Glass–Steagall law is no longer appropriate."

Many commentators have stated that the GLBA's repeal of the affiliation restrictions of the Glass–Steagall Act was an important cause of the financial crisis of 2007–08. Some critics of that repeal argue it permitted Wall Street investment banking firms to gamble with their depositors' money that was held in affiliated commercial banks."

I hope those castigating Sanders for not having detailed plans for what he talks about doing aren't also Trump supporters, lol.
