Notwithstanding his spotty record, Charles will at least be eligible to vote in all future Virginia elections.

I would trust him to vote before I would his owner.

Poor little guy.

That poor dog has been through a lot all because of his crappy owner.

Bobby Wilder has one of Charles' pups, and says he would love to have Charles if he is up for adoption.

I thought Debbie White was gone? Also, is the guy in the picture with Charles his owner?

Debbie will be retiring this summer ... and no, the ODU ForeHead in the picture with Charles IS NOT his owner.

RE: Charles the Monarch in the pokey
What ever happened with this?
Walked my dog this morning, and I saw guys from Daniel's Lawn and Garden Center doing yard work. In that same yard was a dog that looked similar to Charlies.
Didn't get a good look at him as he was tucked back resting under some bushes and I was across the street.
I didn't look too closely but I didn't see a leash or something to restrict him to the yard they were working on.

I've never seen a dog that that house before so I doubt it belonged to the property owner.

A friend of mine saw him loose, yesterday. I never heard any more about who got him. I thought he was supposed to be staying with the owner's sister in Gloucester.

I tried to take a picture but didn't want to be obvious about it.
Lucky, did you see him loose around Colley?

A coworker saw him on the beach at Seashore State Park over Memorial Day weekend with Daniel and with what she guesses is his sister. Daniel seemed to have been enjoying some beverages and talking about how his evil daughter controls the Facebook page. It's just a matter of time until Norfolk PD/Animal Popo catches him.

If this dog didn't become famous with its' lion grooming, it would have been euthanized a long time ago. This dog isn't special nor is his owner. Enough already. Put it down.

The dog should be given to an owner that cares about him.

Suggesting that it be put down makes you look stupid and ill informed but that's pretty much par for the course.

Ill informed? This dog and owner have been given way too many chances. If this dog goes loose and causes a hazard to drivers, it should be caught and put down.

The dog is unfortunately owned by an irresponsible person. Charles has not bitten, or otherwise harmed anybody. To suggest that the dog should be euthanized is both cruel and stupid. Use some common sense!

If the owner is caught violating the terms of his court order the dog should be confiscated and a proper home (a third party, other than that of a friend or relative of the owner) should be found for him.

RE: Charles the Monarch in the pokey
Cruel and stupid you say? Judges have ordered dogs euthanized for barking.

The dog has its' faults too. He has a habit of running out of control and in and out of traffic. If that's not creating harm to anyone, I don't know what is. I think I read where the dog can scale fences as well. It's not against the law to tether an animal in Virginia, but who does that anymore? Tethering is even crueler. Is this dog neutered? If not, that's another problem if this dog gets horny and goes loose again.

Everyone who wants to adopt a pet wants one that's obedient. If this dog gets confiscated, who in their right mind would want the responsibility of owning it? If some sorry fool does adopt it, soon enough, the dog will be running in and out of traffic in a different neighborhood and tax payers will once again have to flip the bill for animal control and a date with a judge. If this dog's rap sheet gets any longer, a judge may just make that call.

So if a parent doesn't discipline his child and he runs loose in the neighborhood, you would shoot the child?
