RE: And we're off - Transfers
Terrell was dissappointing. With Sammy, I'll say lets see how Spiker can recruit to fill that spot. Sammy just didn't dazzle last year like I thought he might.

From Sammy's perspective, I wonder where he ends up. Not sure if he'll get too much interest from higher mid-majors. He may be destined for the AE or Patriot league, if he wants to be an impact guy. BU, maybe, back where he grew up?

The loss of Sammy could be compounded if what I've read elsewhere comes to pass. Don't want to post it since it may not occur, but I guess it's being looked into for verification one way or the other.

Reading between the lines I don't know why he would transfer as he would get more minutes and would be a important ish player.

Nothing to read between with Sammy. He signed up to play for Bru at Drexel and Bru is gone. I've read where he's looked into moving on to play for Bash up at Wagner. Personally, I feel if a coach leaves/is fired players should be allowed to transfer without having to sit out a year. He opted to leave knowing what else may be happening in terms of the roster and the minutes he could have had.

Disagree with your opinion that players shouldn't have to sit out a year if a coach leaves/gets fired. When you agree to play basketball, you play for the school first and the coach second. Sammy shouldn't be rewarded because Bru loses his job. There's a scholarship and playing time waiting for him at Drexel University. If he doesn't want it that's his problem. He has the right to transfer but should also have to pay the penalty.

Landing with Bash at Wagner makes total sense. Its the right level, under the right coaching tree, in the right geography. I know its still just message board speculation, but I can't believe I didn't connect those dots.

Honestly what difference does it make? Sitting out a year does not cost him anything, he will have the exact same amount of eligibility at his new school as he would here. Until they start punishing the kids with actually losing a year of eligibility I see now point in making them sit out and prolong the process that will end the same way. Instead of pushing him through a standard 4 years it will take him 5 to still play his 4 years. If he improves his 5th year he will then be allowed to transfer for free wherever he wants. It is a broken system, but with how it is broken currently making him sit out actually makes it even worse and creating more "graduate transfers"

The irony there is that Matt Brady is probably better coach than Dr. John.

Maybe they made a connection back when Giannini was winning a national championship at Rowan, while Brady was an assistant at St. Joe?

Sorry. What I'm talking about is on the SJU boards, so you could see it, but you'd have to sign up. Pretty sure I saw someone who posted on the Zone over there once but don't remember who.

One of those schools is not like the others, one of those schools (seemingly) doesn't belong...

Yeah no kidding. If he becomes a peacock I think some heads of our fans will roll. With his talent if he doesn't take a step up it would be a literal slap across the face of Drexel basketball.

Not sure that is a better situation, but I do believe Dawkins is a heck of a coach

So this is interesting... According to Verbal Commits Sammy is coming back. I thought we ran out of scholarships.

Josh Verlin tweeted yesterday that he is hearing that Mojica is staying and Ahmad Fields' time at Drexel is over due to injury.
That would make sense why Mojica is with the team at the end of this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1cB6TOqJng

RE: And we're off - Transfers
So a lot of shiza is happening with our Dragons. According to Josh Verlin; Rashann London is transferring from Drexel.

Sammy stays because he is replacing Fields playing time and London is transferring because Sammy is coming back. If I had to keep one Sammy vs London I would pick Sammy.
