There were no victims to bribe. Look at the evidence. Using the guys own admissions, one was a Kansas fan who was PO'd at SU for winning in '03 (his actual words). His allegations arose around the time he was on trial for r*ping a minor and he tried to use "his own past abuse" as a mitigating circumstance. I think that he also said that he wanted game and money (I think that those are his words). Another guy eventually straight admitted that he wanted drug money. The other two guys kept changing their stories (which never really matched up with each other or their past versions) and, at one time, they (or at least one of them) claimed that they were telling a lie or that the other was telling a lie. It was a shameless cash grab. Going by their appearance and actions, my guess is that they were also on drugs.

Pretending like they're credible and comparing them to real victims is a HUGE disservice to actual abuse victims and the innocent guy who is being setup to take the blame. Randomly (without any evidence) implying that real victims were paid off is even worse.

Call me biased, but I was a PSU fan before the Penn State scandal. I have no issue siding with real victims. That isn't the case at SU. The two situations are very different. AND, the above doesn't even take the school's response into account. That was also night and day in SU's favor.

I will have to look into it more I really hope it didn't happen because there is nothing lower and I apologise for accusations if y'all really didn't. But the newer accusations on the school has to have some truth I'm sure.

Our penalties were among the harshest ever handed down. Yeah, SMU got screwed, but if you think SU got the benefit of the doubt, you're in another world. We got hit for self reporting clerical errors in an OPTIONAL drug test that we administer. +90% of schools don't administer a comparable test because it creates a massive amount of liability for the school with no upside other than its good for the player health. And again, we made a clerical error that was self reported. That's the level of our transgressions. It was a bunch of stuff like that.
