BU is not leaving Hockey East ever. They are a founding member in a bus league with all of their rivals including Green Line archrival Boston College. I'm not sure why people keep suggesting this.

Offering North Dakota would be as smart as it gets on the other hand.

This may be a test balloon for something bigger down the road to see how the Notre Dame faithful would react.

I doubt it. As long as the ACC is going to give them the deal they have, they're happy with it. And if they were to go all-in with anyone I think the ACC or even the Pac-12 are ahead of the Big Ten. And it makes sense as the Big Ten would regionalize them in a way they don't want to be.

That and hockey is such a different sport and fanbase for big name schools like that. Notre Dame hockey fans arent the same as Notre Dame football fans. Rivalries are different too. I do wish we could make North Dakota and Minnie Duluth affiliates but highly unlikely it would ever happen.

That is what the Big East and ACC fans have thought and said in the past, too......

Hence my caveat to open the post, "I'm sure this isn't likely (as in as close to 0% without actually being 0%)"......

I know this is needed to be said, GOOD JOB PENN STATE, holy heck you guys have put a competitive program in place so quickly. I love it. I wish Sparty tried harder in hockey and that Eastern played hockey in the NCA Div 1 rather than the ACHA Div 1 (30 minutes away from campus for home games).

Very true Penn state is going in the right direction for a young d1 program.
