Of course, not news for most of here on the DogPound.

Has there ever been confirmation as to exactly what happened?

I have a feeling Huff just decided to leave based on some of the Twitter and Instagram stuff Allen and Jones were saying to him. Looked like they were close friends and not too happy Huff left the squad

Team will practice in Chicago on April 16th.

So Hare is "day to day". That is unfortunate, I thought that he was progressing well as a starter before his injury. Hopefully he can be ready by fall but missing Spring ball is not going to help his development.

Really a shame. This guy showed flashes and had great potential. Was looking for big things out of him this year and next. Interesting we still moved DJ Brown to WR in spite of Huff leaving. They must be very confident in Mister and Jones to hold down the RB position in the coming years.

Let's just say that it wasn't a good fit (and no, this has nothing to do with the coaching staff)

Malik Space, another wide out from St. Rita. Hope he learns from Golloday. That is not a bad school to get a pipeline into.

If Hare's injury carries into or through the season, could he qualify for a medical if we choose not to play him because of injury?

Let's really hope that doesn't happen. In the article it says according to doctors no more than 3 weeks.

He's never going to be the same guys...It's a very unlucky break for Hare and the team....but it would be a miracle if he's as effective going forward as he once was.

I sadly have to agree, i think a lot of people are going to be sorely disappointed with what we see when he gets back. Nothing against the kid and my heart goes out to him for having to go through this, but it comes with the nature of the injury.

I don't get why everyone is automatically assuming Hare won't be the same. Is that a possibility? Yes. But does he have a decent chance of coming back 100% absolutely. I'm a Chiefs fan obviously, and 2 seasons ago Derrick Johnson tore his Achilles, and came back and went to the probowl at 33. Same w Mike Devito and these guys are in their 30s. With Drew being young and the advancements in surgery methods and rehab I'm fairly confident he will make a full recovery.

Linebackers and linemen aren't the same as QBs. And professional athletes are tougher mentally because they do have insurance policies and paychecks. A quick movement to tuck and run (which in our offense is almost every 4 downs) as a QB is going to be very difficult for him going forward. And once you've injured yourself the way he has, the probability of doing it again increases. Listen, I'm rooting for the kid, but planting to throw or planting to run (which is how he injured himself) will need to be done differently. He needs to train his mind and body to do something different than what he has done his whole life while the whole time thinking about his severe injury. And that's all assuming he comes back 100%. I just don't think he will ever be the same player. It's a tough break, but if someone performs Better than he does, he needs to sit.

Seems to me that both sides could be correct here, we all heal differently. If it is a concern, I could see us playing two QB's again for different situations. Hope Hare heals up, I love the kid, but excited to see what else takes shape with the other QB's in the hopper.

Anybody know what is up with Cheren? Sounded like some personal issues from the Carey presser. Surprised he said is much as he did on it. Hopefully he works it all out.

It is kinda oddly worded but RC sounded positive that he'll work it out soon.

From Huskie Wire Re: Cheren:

Quote:"It's not an illness but it's not an injury, it's more something that he's not feeling well that's internal," he said. "He's seeing specialists. At this point, we feel like he'll be fine and ready, we just don't know when he'll be ready."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's a pretty low number of defections, no? Huff is a loss, but he's the only one of any real significance who left.

Also, I think there's a better chance Hare doesn't start the opener than he does. That's a tough injury to come back from.
