A win for Coach Beard is a credit to Chasse Conque and the loyal fans of the Little Rock Trojans. Also Wes and Porter got fueled up in LR too. The road to the Final Four clearly has a pit stop in The Rock.

RE: Coach Beard Fireside Chat pre-championship
Wes should really be on the sidelines tonight. Either he could have stayed on Coach Beard's staff or if the improbable had not happened in the Virginia game.

Coach Pearle has been nothing but class since the loss, stating he didn't want to take away from a great game and a great run by his team. On Dan Patrick this morning, he seemed to acknowledge the last play was a foul. He said in the last few seconds his team did some things wrong- Let the guy hit a 3, missed a free throw, and committed a foul; while Virginia did everything right- hit a clutch 3 and hit 3 clutch free throws. He didn't harp on the missed double dribble call. No doubt the refs missed it and, yes, that is there job. However, I still haven't heard anyone, coach, fan, or player admit that they realized it was a double dribble at the time. Easy to make that call in retrospect.

Yes, a big win for Chasse for hiring Coach Beard, but he has to take a big loss for hiring Flanigan. He's one and one right now, with the clock ticking on his third hire. That loss has spiraled into at least a three, and possibly longer decline in men's basketball for the Trojans. I still respect Chasse, and support him as the AD, but he had better start getting some results from his coaching hires in basketball. On top of all that, he's a fine person, and a plus to our program as the face of LR athletics.

I'd still be interested to know who Eddie Fogler recommended we hire last year. Probably never will. I just know he did "pretty well" in recommending Coach Beard.

Pearl said Monday on ESPN's Get Up! that human error is a part of the game and he's proud of how his players handled a crushing defeat on Saturday.

"The biggest point I want to make, and I'm sincere in this, I'm not just saying this because it's politically the right thing to say. There is human error involved in the game. Kids make mistakes, coaches make mistakes. Yes, officials will make mistakes. That's part of the game. Get over it," he said.

"Sometimes they're going to go your way, sometimes they're not going to go your way. Are we going to give God less glory because we lost and ... only because we win? Stop. Grow up, this is part of the game. These kids taught us, I think, in many, many ways how to handle defeat. And that's a difficult thing to do for these young kids. And I'm proud of them."
