Coach Keatts
He will eventually, but I imagine it being a situation like Shaka where he holds out for the right one

RE: Coach Keatts
A contract at UNCW means zero when talking him taking another job. If they want him they will buy it out. He would be foolish to accept anything that is not in his favor.

How many years did they finish 10th in the Big E?
CGHawk, to bring it back to the initial thought, I think we all believe Keatts would be better served sticking with UNCW and taking us to new heights. More often than not, coaches jump at middle-of-the-pack P5 jobs with limited success. Dixon's total pay in 2014 was roughly $3.2 million, but that was a combination of base pay ($1.4 million) and incentives. If Pitt makes an offer, it would be hard to turn down, but we all hope that he has a Shaka Smart-like vision for the Dub.

LOL. I'm sure his agent is involved and leveraging any interest to get the most we can pay. Gotta' stir up some funds as well. Anyone got a couple hundred grand laying around?

RE: Coach Keatts
If I ever strike it rich one of the first things I'm doing is ensuring the baseball program is fully funded, with a solid raise for each of the baseball coaches. Absolutely absurd they STILL aren't fully funded. One of only 2 baseball programs in the CAA that isn't yet.
Next step would be ensuring we keep a basketball coach the caliber of Keatts around as long as possible.

Well, that didn't quite go the way of the dinosaurs though.

They should pay Scalf and fund the baseball program for sure. Not really sure Keatts is in it for the long haul after reading the article in todays newspaper. He of course says it is not a stepping stone job-coach speak while leaving the door wide open. I do think he is here until the Louisville deal is done. Pitt or any other school would be taking a chance for no reason.
My personal opinion is that the guy did not act alone in the UL prostitute scandal, people always talk and it just went on way to long. Not to mention it was a good bit of money that changed hands. Slick Rick will talk to the NCAA next month.

RE: Coach Keatts
It could have easily been a booster involved with the assistant. We have experienced first hand the damage boosters can do to a program.

RE: Coach Keatts
He will make $500,000 annually for the next five years. Buyout is back in the contract at $200,000 per Eric Detweiler of the Star News. No change in salary for Bass
