Palm is a bit less bullish on the league. He's got 4 in- but
Nova 3 MW Hartford
Butler 7 S Columbus
Xavier 9 S Columbia
Marquette 10 E Columbus

St John's 1st team out

Pretty close though.

gotta love the Fox News Channel effect on the other board. Folks only want to be affirmed with what they actually believe, instead of wanting to hear all sides. ******* pathetic. Some folks at least. Adoraz and a few others pretty realistic, which I appreciate.

i do love St John's fans who think it's a done deal on the waiver for Heron.

I guess I have 1 question. Since the NCAA closed off the hardship waivers, has anyone been granted it? If not, why in the hell should Heron be granted it? Like I've said- the NCAA doesn't want to open up this can of worms.

I gotta love the dumb ***** who act like FS1 is going great. Considering all that's been added to FS1, for it to still be relatively speaking be struggling the way it is speaks volumes. Like I said on the other place- I don't think anyone expected it to be the home of Cowherd, Skip Bayless, and Jason Whitlock 5 years ago.

Also have to say for folks that act like the money is equal- the Big Ten is going to be taking home about 50 million dollars. Using the 80% rule- that still means Big Ten is taking home about 10-11 million dollars. Big East isn't taking that much home at all. All the Big East fans want to act like the next AAC tv deal is crucial for them. I'd say the Big East is totally in the same boat.

So those that disagree with you, or do not share the same opinion, are "dumb *****"? Why do you actively engage in debate over there if you know all it will do is irritate and frustrate you? More importantly, is it that important to come over here and trash the posters for what they say? Does that really give you vindication?

Honestly, there are more important things to worry about in life.

no, what pisses me off is that folks can't have a conversation with me about it, they just have to totally disregard it, and make fun of me personally. He does that, I'm going to do that.

I think it's a very real point that FS1 isn't at all what was expected 5 years ago, and that if you had said all the stuff that FS1 would have gotten 5 years ago- you would have thought that FS1 would be so much further ahead than they are. I think that's a very fair point....

and the problem is that the mods over there have allowed that personal bull**** to go unchecked, and in fact have contributed to it.

RE: stevers thoughts
oh, and of course a post I did a few days ago didn't get approved where I mentioned one of the big questions for the next 5 years for the big east is what happens after next year with the sublicensing part of the deal with CBS expires..... I think that's a huge question- one that could lead to some games getting on ESPN. Which I think would be a big plus for the Big East.

It is completely unrealistic to have thought that FS1 would become an immediate competitor to ESPN, even with all of the content and network personalities they have acquired. FS1 literally just turned five years old. It took Fox, as a major network, almost ten years to gain the following and acceptance to be a peer to networks like CBS, NBC and ABC. Ratings have steadily gone up for content over the past five years at FS1. Now, you can pick and choose examples of some doing better than others, or some struggling to fit a narrative that FS1 is failing. However, everything that has occurred has shown steady, yet slow, growth.

the thing is, FS1 isn't even really close to a competitor to ESPN. And I think it's fair to say that if you knew 5 years ago what all Fox would have gotten in these 5 years- I think you would have thought that FS1 would be further along. FS1 has had some bad breaks admittedly- Tiger Woods falling off a cliff(4 rounds of US Open out of 16 possible for Fox), US missing out on World Cup. But pretty much nothing they had planned programming wise pre-launch stuck. Nothing. And the guy who reprogrammed it- he's gone too.

And like I said, it is foolish to think they would be a true competitor to ESPN by this point. It takes time to get viewers and create a following. So many, by default, turn on ESPN because they associate that with THE sports network. Competition will, ultimately, be better for business.

I would also add not getting the NBA package when it went up for negotiation was big for the long-term development for Fox and FS1.

I agree with you on the NBA. That was a huge move that probably stunted FS1's development somewhat.

I think part of the problem is that ESPN has everything just about- while all the other competitors are so splintered. FS1 has what it has, NBC has the NHL, Premier league soccer, Olympics Turner has baseball, NBA and some golf, etc.

Plus the thing that ESPN has that the others don't is Sports Center- that while ratings are down- it still is a big winner for ESPN. That's kind of the Mayo or Ketchup or Mustard that keeps the entire thing together. Fox doesn't have that. Fox is all debate now. I like it- but I know there are a lot of others that don't. I'd LOVE for Fox to revive Fox Sports Live.

definitely nice to know from other site that the A10 is a major conference. If the A10 is a major conference, the AAC sure as hell is a major conference. Will have to make note of that for the start of the season.

Out of curiosity, how long did it take for that post to be approved?

More publicity for Joseph Chartouney:

Zach Braziller
@NYPost_Brazille
One of the premier grad transfers in country. People don’t realize how big of an addition this will be.
