I have never understood why some schools have athletic programs that don't always reflect well on the school. I would have thought that some of the folks that Brady brought in (and Mickey Matthews as well) would have resulted in an earlier termination for both.

I think JMU is classier that the image their higher profile athletic teams project.

I certainly would hope that JMU is classier than the JMU posters on CSNBBS would lead us to believe.

From an article in the Harrisonburg paper looking at coaching options for JMU. Jamion was listed as an "up and comer."
http://www.dnronline.com/article/a_crucial_hire

Jamion Christian, Mount St. Mary’s: As one of the youngest head coaches in the nation, Christian took the Mountaineers to the 2014 NCAA Tournament in just his second year on the job.

The 33-year-old Quinton native served as an assistant at William & Mary under Tony Shaver from 2008-11 and at VCU under ex-Rams coach Shaka Smart from 2011-12. That experience gives Christian plenty of recruiting ties in the Richmond/Hampton Roads locales.

At Mount St. Mary’s – a tiny Catholic school in Emmitsburg, Md. – Christian has compiled a 63-65 record, though that mark is somewhat deceiving due to the considerable amount of “buy” games the low mid-major program plays in order to generate funding.

Christian’s teams, much like Smart’s, employ an entertaining, fast-paced style of play. The Mountaineers’ full-court press is nicknamed “Mount Mayhem,” and this season, Christian’s team – despite its 14-19 record – ranked third nationally in turnovers forced at 17.4 per game.

Jamion is just a quality human being. The Dukes could do MUCH worse.

It would be bad for the Tribe if Jamion took that job.

No it wouldn't...JMU would find a way to screw it up.

Fair point. Qualifier: it would be as bad as it could be for the Tribe if he took the job.

Interesting new coach hire for JMU, with '95 JMU alum/player and Bowling Green assistant, Louis Rowe....So, Drexel and JMU filled, Delaware tbd.

I'm not so sure about Rowe. Players seem to like him, but there were so many more attractive candidates with actual resumes. Perhaps they dropped out of the hunt for one reason or another. One thing I will guarantee that in no world is Lou Rowe currently a better coach, teacher, or recruiter than Kevin Sutton.

They are also searching for a WBB coach as Kenny Brooks left for VT. They couldn't compete with VT's salary of over $500k per year.

Sad thing is Delaware, despite trying to screw everything up, will likely end up with a great young coach in Martin Inglesby. They won't hire a coach until they hire an AD. According to one of the departed from their roster (Holden), that won't be until sometime in May. So they may not hire a coach until late May or even June. They will be behind everyone in filling the coaches positions. Luckily, Inglesby can hold out and wait if he desires. He has shown interest in the Delaware job and has already been given a recommendation by Mike Brey to take that job, his former job before heading to South Bend. While others will want Inglesby, I think he will go to Delaware even if it is late in the process.
