No but perception is reality.

I think folks will be happier with the schedule. It will still be littered with some cupcakes but not as many. Troy will be back in Bartow. I really wish we would drop them and pick up South if we have to play one.

That's all fine and well. I'm okay with a couple of cupcake games, I'm not okay with it being half our ooc schedule. I too would prefer south over Troy.

RE: Scheduling needs to change
Scheduling success at schools that don't have a great deal of "brand recognition" depend in part on coaching connections. In addition to many of the issues already mentioned, I think that a relative lack of connections has been an obstacle for Haase in scheduling as much as anything. It's not necessarily his fault but merely a consequence of his youth and his lack of prior head coaching experience. Older coaches and those who have had head coaching experience elsewhere are often better-connected and can "call in favors" so to speak. Connections via Roy Williams have no doubt been valuable to Haase, but I believe in time Haase will develop some of those connections himself that will pay dividends in scheduling.

Let's include a clause in ever UAB head coach's contract that says if the coach leaves for another job the new school owes UAB a home-and-home series with cancellation at the discretion of UAB only. That should guarantee us some quality ganes every few years...
