NIU needs to stay aggressive on the recruiting trail. Similar to WMU, CMU has a lot of highly rated early commits. I think they have a top 30 rates class right now. Not that ratings mean everything but there seems to be a lot more talent flowing into the MAC West and you have to figure Toledo will have another solid class like usual.

The West is definitely getting stronger. We have no choice but be aggressive.

He is a nice little QB. Quick on his feet. Adequate arm. Looks like he might be able to play at the MAC level.

Nice get for right tackle to cover Rodney's backside. Isaac had offer from Illinois but don't know if that was under the Cubit regime.

NIU maybe able to pull more of our instate 3 star guys. Lovie may be trying to get the 4 and 5 star guys in there to compete with Michigan, Ohio State and Iowa.

I don't think it's a 3/4/5 star thing, but Lovie is running a different offense/defense than Cubit was going to and what they want out of their players is different. What they're looking for in HS kids isn't the same.

Also, as a note to this, I saw Lovie invited Carey/NIU to the Illinois satellite camp at Lincoln-Way East today and that Carey is there today.

I recall Lovie being at spring practice on dekalb before. He may have had a son the team or was a grad asst. Not sure if Kill or DD wad HC at the time. Lovie has respect.for our program and is outstanding individual. He will do well in Champaign and that is not easy.

Issac Hawn was a great pickup for us. Kid is already huge and only going to get stronger. If we can land him and Kendrick Green in this class it would set our OL up great for the future.

Pumped we got Hawn, didn't think we were going to be able to land him. Kudos to the coaches!

Yes, it was overturned a few days after it was announced.

NIU has a satellite camp at Gately Stadium.
