I think Dekyser would probably be #1 from the past few years, but I'm not counting him because he's gone.

10-3 Pitcher is being used as a sacrificial lamb. He's totally gassed but they don't want to use any pitchers. I think we use 4 pitchers in game two, pissibly even Keegan Aikin for an inning or two. Even if tgey get to Sunday they're out of pitchers.

Oh, current players...in that case, not much going on over at hockey.

Does anyone know where Akin is supposed to go in the draft? His numbers are really really good. I haven't seen him pitch, so I can't really speak to the scouting aspect of it. But I have seen him get a little national recognition for this season. I'm not looking up numbers or anything, but I'm guessing this is the best season by a Western pitcher in a loooong time. I would bet he's been better than Hollingsworth or Misch and that's as far back as my Bronco baseball memory goes.

Even MAC umps can't get it right.

Western up 3-0, Chimp center fielder drops a routine fly which scores a run and turns into a triple. Ump reverses it and says the center fielder held it long enough for the 3rd out

4-0 bottom of the 8th. Have left a ton of runners stranded.

Yep. And we should have our ace. And it works out good that whoever we play will be pretty taxed as they play do late. Stars could be aligning.

Akin pitched Wed. They might use him middle relief or closer but they won't start him on 3 days rest.

Holy crap. We spend all season complaining about this team and they're going to play for the MAC Title. It's a gd great day to be a bronco!

Iowa finished tied for eighth in Big Ten this Spring, they're in championship game today too. The regular season champ Minnesota went out in two games.

Funny things can happen in tournaments.

Andy Pepper tweeted the story and it was on WWMT. If Dacey reports it MLIVE has to pay him time and a half for holiday pay. It was a big fiscal decision for them that might have cost them $50 in revenue.

Our spring sports have made some good tournament runs this season, regardless of the baseball outcome today.

I'm happy to have been wrong on this. I LOVE me some Bronco Baseball and am happy that we're playing for our first MAC title!
