Cleveland!! vs Ohio
Ohio is pretty tough. We won wayyyyy back on Jan 6, mostly because we hit 10-21 from 3 and Maric went for 21 and 14. Setty and Campbell were in foul trouble most of that game.

They got us by the same score (80-69) in Ohio. NIU was 2-15 from 2, but was up 4 with 6 to play. it was a lot closer than the score indicated.

Any news on Maric? Obviously we really need him tomorrow. The line is only 3, seems a bit low to me.

I think Maric is a no go, my prediction is

Ohio 77
NIU 64

Very promising outlook for NIU going forward next year though!

Maric was wearing a boot Monday night and it didn't look good. Monty seemed optimistic he'd give it a go tomorrow night. We'll see. Go Dogs

While there is uncertainty if Maris steps on the court I think its fairly certain he wont be much of a factor in the game. Ohio has probably a top 3 or 4 player in the MAC in Campbell that should dominate. The only way NIU can keep this close going to late 2nd half is to just go crazy from the perimeter shooting.

Campbell was named MAC MVP today. Boothe finished second and Wilder was third.

Monty did say post game on Monday that if Marin was capable of playing Thursday, he would. Take that for what it is I guess.

Thompson wasn't as good as Campbell, Boothe or Wilder. Thompson was second team ALL-MAC. Thompson was Freshman of the year. Marshawn Wilson was second amongst freshman.

Oh ok that makes more sense, they probably just didn't want to give freshman player of the year and MVP to the same player. IMO Thompson was much better than any of the above players. Boothe disappeared in 2nd half, Wilder was OK, but certainly not top 5 or even top 10 discussion IMO. I guess Campbell would be an argument, but if you look at stats across the board , Thompson was just unparalleled in the conference this year.
