It would be a shame if we didn't have a thread to congratulate Hofstra on an incredible season and tournament. Ladies and gentlemen, we were blessed to beat an UNBELIEVABLY talented and well coached Hofstra team.
Hofstra, on behalf of the Seahawk's Nest, good luck in the NIT and beyond. Great team and we wish you the best success going forward.

Yes, they are truly a great team! And, I hope that they would at least get a good hard look at a bid. In a 1 game scenario, not a 3 game situation, they can beat almost anybody period. We should feel very fortunate to have won this tourney against such great teams.

Gosh, you'd hope so. But realistically they are looking at the NIT. The CAA, top to bottom, had a historically great year. But there were no really great teams. There were 6 really, really good teams. And a couple more that could beat an awful lot of people on any given night. But after the auto-bids are given out, I suspect we are still a one-bid NCAA league.
But Hofstra is a really, really good team.

Hofstra should be in, but we know they probably won't. I have no doubt they would have a better shot then a lot of the other teams.

Tough for either team to lose tonight. Hofstra has a hell of a good team. Go win the NIT! Make us all proud.

Probably the best starting lineup in the conference, it points out how difficult it is to win the automatic bid. Did I read somewhere at this point out of six played to date all six conference winners have gone down? Add my congrats to Hofstra.

Congrats guys, great season, three epic games! It so pains me to say that was a well deserved win last night.
I think the Hawks have the total package to be a Cinderella this NCAAT. The CAA has been flying so far under the radar this season, I think it's time someone makes some noise for the conference.

Yeah. No #1 has won a conf tourney. Horizon (Valpo) and Summit (IPFW) #1s both lost in their Semis last night, so that's 2 more. The NCAA bubble isn't the only one shrinking.

Which really sucks for W&M. They deserve an NIT bid but it's getting less and less likely they'll receive one.
With JMU already stating they will not accept anything less than an NIT bid (though there's some miscommunication going on in their Administration about that from what I read), it seems likely it'll just be 1 NCAA, 1 NIT, and W&M, NU, and maybe Towson perhaps relegated to the other 3 tournaments. Not really a fair result for the 9th-ranked conference in the country, but it is what it is.
