For funsies, I ran the RPI Wizard on us, assuming we beat FAU and then win the Championship by playing the highest-RPI most likely opponents, WKU (8 or 9), Marshall (4 or 5), and MT (2 or 3). With this sequence, UAB's projected RPI is 63.

First midmajor tourney upset occurred last night. Top seeded Belmont went down in their first game of the OVC Tourney to 8th seeded Austin Peay...in Nashville. I don't think this really benefits us though, Belmont was projected behind us.

It's funny how in most years, we are hoping that there are no upsets so at large bids aren't taken. This year, we are rooting for upsets in the one-bid conferences so we get boosted in seeding.

There are virtually no mid majors locked in as at large births this year either. Odd year all around.

True. Even the perennial mid major darlings, Gonzaga and Wichita St, are bubble teams this year.

Root for ETSU over Chattanooga tonight in the SoCon final. A Bucs win gets us closer to a 13-seed.

"Top lower mid-major"???

Would that include the southeast west division of the National American conference of the Atlantic Pacific league?

Yes. Those teams are in the Milky Way South Eastern Quadrant.

It's funny how the NCAA Has high majors and mid majors, but no low majors or high minors or mid minors.

Didn't get this one. North Dakota State over South Dakota State tonight would help.
