What are everyone's opinions on these next two games? Do they matter at all? I personally think they do, as a bad loss or two could potentially effect our seeding in the NCAA tourney. I also would like to go into the CUSA tourney with as much momentum as possible, although that didn't hurt us last year. I want our guys to be in the mindset to win every game they have left, including the postseason.

They definitely affect seeding. Need to win both. I want us to play up to a 13.

We've never won at FAU or FIU. I want to destroy them both.

These two games could very well decide whether or not we get a 13 or 14 seed. If we win the next 5 games we will 100% not be getting a 15th seed. End of discussion.
Winning the next two won't really help our RPI/resume but it could certainly hurt it. Two wins in Florida and the right match ups in Birmingham next week and we'll get a 13 seed. We'll need to face the higher seeds with the best RPI Middle/La Tech/Marshall as many games as possible.
I can't see us under any circumstance sneaking up to a 12 seed. Obviously our RPI wouldn't yield that type of seeding so it would require the eye test and some other factors. Per bracketmatrix.com, the current 12 seeds are Valpo, Temple, Ark-LR, Monmouth, and San Diego St. Do I think we are as a good or better than those teams? Sometimes. I'm content with the 13 seed and I think that should be our goal.

Totally agree with you guys. I was down on this team going into the CUSA tourney last year after losing these two games, but it didn't seem to matter. I hope we don't make that same mistake and hit the tourney ground running with full momentum and confidence..

RE: FIU
Per Coach Haase's interviews, he wants to play these games like normal. What do you guys think about resting key players? I can see it both ways. On one hand you don't want to have a guy get out of rhythm and you can help your NCAA seed. On the other hand, it would be devasting if someone like Robert Brown got injured in one of these games when we've already locked up the 1 seed.

We're deep enough to rest guys without really seeming to. We don't want to give the impression of taking teams for granted. Nor do we want to give the impression to the team that we can play well and beat teams when we want to - without trying our best.

RE: FIU
With our 10 deep rotation, I imagine the game plan won't change much if at all. If Madison or Sullivan were to get hot, I could see them playing a few more minutes than their norm, but not much more than that.

Play the games just like you have been. Keep the same rotation and rhythm. Why monkey with what's working?

Especially given no one is averaging over 30 per game.

RE: FIU
Last year at FIU William Lee was ejected with 4:30 left to play in the 2nd half. The game was tied 60-60. Haha converted an "and 1" lay up and then made the gun symbol with his index and thumb and sort of pointed at an FIU player. It was super bizarre.
