Diamond Hawks Host East Carolina Tuesday
WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The Seahawks return to Brooks Field for the first time in two weeks tonight when they host East Carolina at 6 p.m.
UNCW (19-9) carries a four-game winning streak into tonight's non-conference game after sweeping Colonial Athletic Association rival William & Mary over the weekend in Williamsburg.
Helping lead UNCW to the sweep and a 4-0 record, including a win at Campbell, last week was senior outfielder Steven Linkous, who was named CAA Co-Player-of-the-Week. Linkous hit .526, scored four runs and knocked in three while stealing two bases. In the series opener against the Tribe, Linkous plated the eventual game-winner with a two-out RBI single.
East Carolina (21-11) dropped two-of-three at Tulane in an American Athletic Conference over the weekend. The Pirates prevented a sweep at the hands of the Green Wave with a 7-3 win in the finale as Parker Lamm collected four hits and drove in three runs.
The Seahawks hit the road tomorrow when they renew a series with High Point. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
