This is just about over. 49-29 18:26 remaining. Gustys has 3 we need to get him a 4th immediately.

7-0 run since over the past 2:30 and at the under 16 timeout 49-36 hofstra. Mojica just picked up his 4th. Gustys has been in and out with his 3. Without Gustys they are much different. We need to keep him on the bench.

11 mins left 58-45 hofstra. Walker has 4 for hofstra. Need to get gustys a 4th quick. Rodney doing well need to keep feeding him. We have been scrambling on defense and getting lost leaving open looks from 3, which is dangerous.

80-67 final. Hofstra prevails. Rodney and Kaz played very solid games. Terrell did as well. Shooting wise we got jut about nothing from our guards. Very fitting end to the season. Thank you Kaz. Thank you Tavon.

Tavon had a bad game but he did knock 160 3pt and 1249 points. I know he was not a fan favorite by any means but kudos and best wishes to him!

RE: CAAT
After the competitive season, it once again comes down to the 2 best teams in the conference in Hofstra and UNCW. Can the best starting unit with a short bench (HU) win its third game in three days or will the deep rostered run and gun team (UNCW) be able to tire them out enough to become the victors? Hofstra likes to run as well but their style of running is more transition game off of rebounds than it is from pressing you to force turnovers. UNCW is not the greatest shooting team as a whole but certainly anyone can get hot. My guess is it will be a great game but I do think The starting guards for Hofstra will lose their legs at the end and UNCW will get to go dancing for the first time in a decade. The downside for UNCW is that Gustys has been in lots of foul trouble so far this tournament, so he will be fresh and can impose lots of damage against the Seahawks interior. If Hofstra slows their pace just a tad and the offense is run through the post and Gustys, and he stays out of foul trouble, they will have a great opportunity to win this game. If either team struggles shooting the 3 tonight it will likely be the dagger in their season. Either case this game should be a great game to showcase this conference.

Unfortunately, did get a chance to watch the game last night, but what a show it must have been. UNCW coming back, tying the game, sending it into OT. Then continuing and winning in OT. Fantastic, I'll likely pull it off the archive and watch it this week. Great conclusion to the season. Good luck to The Hawks in the dance. Hofstra is in the NIT as the reg season champ... hope they make a good run and represent the CAA.

First half was really good. The second half of the second half was actually not that great because Hofstra just died out there and stopped doing anything on offense which is why they went over 10 mins without a made field goal. UNCW did just enough to get back into and win it. For Hofstra it was all about was their lead big enough to hold on without having any gas left. The answer was no. I think Hofstra has a better chance at doing well than UNCW. UNCW is a team set up to do well in consecutive days where Hofstra is a little better set to win 1 game against anyone. Either way we should be well represented in both tournaments, hopefully UNCW gets a good matchup of style.

There's also a new tournament called the Vegas 16. So now I think we're up to 156 of the 351 teams making the postseason. Basically every DI team who's .500 or better is now eligible for some postseason.

Wow I had not even heard of this 5th tournament. The other 2 pay for play ones are bad enough, I would hate to have heard that sales pitch to add a 5th. Seems stupid to me. Then again football does the same thing and it is also frustrating.

Here's my take on it...Right now, the NCAA Tournament and NIT are so f'd up that 9th place teams from power conferences are going to the those tournaments, while 2nd and 3rd place teams from mid-majors are not. The mid-major team that goes 15-15 worked just as hard or maybe harder to get to that record than let's say, North Carolina did to get their 15-15 record. So for the kids, if mediocre power teams are allowed to play in the postseason, then mediocre mid-major teams should be rewarded with some sort of postseason games as well.

If you want to get rid of these postseason tournaments, then the NCAA should put a cap on the number of teams from one conference that can make the NCAA/NIT. But that will never happen because of the selfish money of the power teams, so we should just let the mid-major teams have their chance to play extra games.

RE: CAAT
There is a difference between having a chance to play due to invitations and the school paying to have the chance to keep playing.
