MyBB Marshall
The Thundering Herd come to Bartow Arena Thursday night. Marshall is 15-12 overall and 11-3 in C-USA. They are on a four-game winning streak and have won 7 of their last 10 games.

Marshall's OOC SOS is 55 according to KenPom.com, with an overall SOS of 160.

Their best win is a 16-point, home victory over MT (142). Their worst loss was at El Paso where UTEP (219) beat them by 4. The score was 112-108, in regulation!

Marshall plays an extremely fast-paced game, as their adjusted tempo is the 2nd highest in the country.

KenPom.com has it UAB 88 - Marshall 82.

RE: Marshall
Last time UAB played Marshall, which UAB won 81-78, James Kelly (6-8 259) scored 30 points. How good is Kelly?

Here is the KenPom.com all-conference team right now.

1. James Kelly - Marshall
2. Trey Freeman - ODU
3. Alex Hamilton - La Tech
4. Chris Cokley - UAB
5. Reggie Upshaw - MT

Cokley over Lee? Weird choice.

RE: Marshall
I believe the CUSA coaches will see Lee as one of the best players in the conference.

RE: Marshall
Ken pom is statistics based and Cokley is currently leading scorer. Although I think Brown will be leading scorer by the end of the season.

If anyone is First team, I think it is Brown.

RE: Marshall
The point was Kelly is rated as the #1 player in the conference, or at least by KenPom.com.

Last Saturday, Marshall beat ODU 82-65. Kelly had 18 points, 7 rebounds, and two blocks. Ryan Taylor had 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Stevie Browning had 18 points and 7 rebounds.

In their game a week ago, Kelly had 27 points, 23 rebounds, and 2 blocks in a 15-point win over Charlotte.

45% of Marshall's field goal attempts are beyond the arc.

RE: Marshall
Right now, Kelly is my pick for Player of the Year. Freeman takes way too many shots. No one at UAB scores enough to gain POY.

I think if we win the conference, Brown will be first team. Norton, Cokley and Lee will be second team. Williams will be 6th man. Haase should win Coach of the Year, but Marshall's coach makes a strong case.
