Cheating would be committing an act that affects the outcome of the game.

As I recall, we were sanctioned by the NCAA for:

1) Playing a player who may not have taken his own SAT, and

2) Allowing a member of a player's family to fly on a charter.

The NCAA did not say that anyone from Memphis took the SAT for the player, so I have a hard time seeing how this would be cheating.

Now, Furgate might be a different matter, but the NCAA didn't seem to have a problem with that.

Gotcha, Memphis didn't know.

It was ONE flight from what I remember. Reggie Rose attended basically every game. If anyone is at fault it's Doo Dah. Of course we all know nothing will happen to him.

And, even if we had argued strict liability, this was supposed to be the anchor that sank the ship.

I'm having a hard time seeing how this would have changed the outcome of a game.

Neither did the Pell Grant mess from the Kirk era. Remember the shoebox deal didn't come to light until Kirk's trial. Still don't know why that was even brought up in a tax evasion trial. And why said person with the shoebox wasn't "Logan Young'd" from the program. I hear that old dude still goes to most practices. Funny

I think Duke hires a former K assistant-turned-HC or someone with Duke ties. At least to bridge the gap...you think it was tough to follow Cal here?

Chris Collins (Northwestern)
Steve Wojciechowski (Marquette)
Johnny Dawkins (Stanford)
Jeff Capel (Duke Asst.)
Tommy Amaker (Harvard)
Mike Brey (Notre Dame)
Bobby Hurley (Arizona State)

Capel would be the favorite more than likely. Maybe Dawkins

Why do you start a thread such as this and use the term "we" when you are an admitted Ole Miss fan? But to answer your question, when it comes to basketball, Ole Miss needs to cheat more than UofM does. The Rebels have very little basketball tradition/brand and are disadvantaged by their small town location. If Vernon will pull his nose out of the Grizzly's asses long enough, he can kiss mine.
