One thing that would improve the game day experience would be to double the size of the band. The band is always spirited and they add so much to the game day experience but they are a very small band for a D1 university of our size.
Do whatever it takes to double the size. OU is the gold standard in the MAC and we should aim to be every bit as good if not better.
There are 2 ways to improve attendance imo, 1) improved scheduling and 2) the ESPN deal ends. Unfortunately we have control over only one of those
Joining a better conference will improve scheduling.

Now you did it. MD will be here soon to compare the bottom rung AAC teams with Toledo and Bowling Green.

NIU contacted by the AAC
Totally agree with bike chuck. Though the money is not there now, a big flashy band with all the trim is what makes college football fun.

With the move itself not offering much in additional revenue (new TV money less added travel costs being a wash), we are going to need to expand our revenues internally first. Which is why we need to achieve the Master Plan of adding new facilities, and finding a way to internally generate the additional revenue needed to be a viable member. I don't think the AAC will seriously consider us until we achieve the Master Plan and show that we can compete financially. The reality of conference change may still be several years down the road.
Exactly what I was saying. It would be a pretty big risk to go now, even if the invite was legit. Not enough consistent revenue. Part of the revenue will have to come from fan support
How much do the teams in the AAC share in bowl revenues? Got to be more than the MAC teams

Frazier knows a move like that would be suicide for the athletic department, he wont bite on this, not even worried at all.
Does anyone know what the conferences dishes out in money to each school? Also curious what kind of athletic budgets other schools in the AAC have

AAC Budgets are about 45-70 million which is about 20 million more than NIU is spending right now.
