As a fan I would cut him a lot of slack. Kenyon's first 3 years were good but not special. His senior year he just elevated more than any player in 60 years.

RE: BB Class of 2019
kenyon had some terrible nicknames. he almost went pro after his junior year. i remember friends and i talking about it in high school math class. lamenting that he was probably good enough to make a questionable decision. and he was brilliant

He probably knows a lot of Kentons. Perhaps he had him confused with Kenton Marvin?

Four times in a row. But that's forgivable. He just returned from Kenton and Spencer's cocktail party. The poor chap should be forgiven for a foie gras and scotch-induced misspelling and itchy trigger finger.

One of the Bearcats top guard prospects along with KyKy Tandy. Symir visited again over the summer. Cincy was one of the first schools to start recruiting him and extend an offer so they are in a pretty good position.

Impressive offer list. Here's hoping his future is in the Red and Black.

I think there is talk of him moving up to 2019, correct?

I think I have at least noticed that we're after more big time local prospects now that we're nearing the premiere of our new arena. Is this accurate, or anecdotal?

Probably more anecdotal...Cincinnati is always in the mix for a couple big-time prospects early on in the recruitment process. I think this is due in large part to our staff's great eye for talent. But as decision dates draw closer, we generally get edged out by the upper echelon programs from the perceived "power" conferences and end up with signatures from a bunch of under-the-radar prospects with mostly mid-major and bottom rung high-major offers.

Yes, but the recent flips and reclassification seem to be a bit more aggressive than we've come to expect from this staff, in my opinion.

I will respectfully disagree. I believe conference affiliation plays a much, much lesser role in b-ball recruiting than it does in a sport like football. There are just so many D-1 b-ball programs, and you can be a star from any one of them. Heck, Steph Curry played at Davidson.

B-Ball recruiting is much more driven by shoe companies (still) and also personal relationships with coaches. The 5-8 kids each year that go to Duke or UK are the anomaly.

I actually agree with this for the most part but I still think conference affiliation plays a large role in how programs are perceived. Playing in the Big East (before the raid) and hosting our conference tournament at MSG used to be a major selling point for prospective recruits. We don't have that anymore.

Maybe times have changed in the last 10 years but I specifically remember listening to Huggins on an interview when UC was invited to the Big East (and before Huggs got canned) saying how getting into this conference would open up recruiting to the 50% of kids that wouldn't even talk to him because of UC's conference affiliation.
