RE: A little help please on " Pace of Play"
It's basically how many possessions a team averages per game. The formula you use is FG attempts - offensive rebounds + turnovers + a little under .5 per FT attempted.

Comparing two teams pace of play gives you an idea of matchup problems. If one team is averaging 60 possessions and the other 85, then you know the game has a potential to get crazy because one team or the other is likely to have to play outside their comfort zone. You can then look at how each team has faired against teams that play at a different pace and get a deal for how good they are at imposing their pace. It's a good barometer of how good a team is. Especially when you combine it with looking at their efficiency stats.
