NIU may very well keep winning regardless, but the entire East Side of the Glass Bowl (the side you see on camera with no suites) is undergoing a multi million dollar renovation starting in March and to be finished by season opener. Our AD said its badly needed to upgrade the amenities for the fans sitting on that side of the stadium. Renovations are soap to nuts, the entire area under that side of the stadium will be gutted and built brand new with professional sports stadium type of amenities. That being said I think Frazier is an excellent AD and this game in Chicago makes a lot of sense for your alumni base. Plus it helps generate more revenue which Frazier is trying to raise in any way he can. My hats off to Frazier for working every darn angle he can! Plus I think this game will help pull in more UT fans as well. Chicago offers nice hotels and activities that can be piggy backed onto this game. It's a great idea and should work well for NIU.
NIU is also upgrading their stadium. Just need our stupid politicians to actually do their job. Which no politician on earth has ever done.
Frazier is doing his job very well, my hats off to him.
He seems to be a go-getter, and I appreciate that. His scheduling philosophy is more like Toledo's - bring in some schools with name recognition to play in your home stadium.

Though I'm a Cubs fan and love Wrigley Field. U.S Cellular is a great place to catch a game. It should be a great atmosphere for football. NIU fans showed up well for Northwestern in Evanston. Should be a good turn out in the city. It may draw quite a few non fans, maybe even convert a few Go Huskies!!!!!

That is great news about upgrading Huskie Stadium. My sense is your talking about the West side? When does that start?

The East side and South Endzone...seems like it will start once the IL politicians agree & sign a state budget.

That is not going to happen! The Democrats will never give up collective bargaining. We have already fought that battle. The Republican agenda of anti workers, anti minority's, anti women, anti unions, anti education and anti taxes and regulations is a losing agenda. There will not be a budget! If stadium expansion is waiting for a budget then you can forget about it. Just look to Wisconsin-Scott Walker this agenda is very bad!

yeah, 222, between rauner, walker and the clown from michigan that put the lead in Flint's children's brains, the Koch (kocks that they are) Brothers have a team of bought and paid for anti-worker rich brats push their corporate profits even higher. They don't care if the university system collapses as their new standard bearer has stated "I love the poorly educated." Because the folks that support this agenda are too dumb to know they have been duped into supporting an agenda that goes against their personal self interest.

Such a simple design for stadium renovation, but it will improve the perception of the program significantly. #showmethemoney

Let's give an honorary degree to Bill Gates, rename the school after him, and have him pay for everything. I heard he does a lot of charity work. The money he has saved on haircuts could easily fund a new stadium for Bill Gates University. GO WINDOWS!
