Thats not true on the whole. A ton of players choose college over the minor leagues every year coming out of high school.

Yes it absolutely is true on the whole. SOME players choose college over the minor leagues, but the best players usually choose the minor leagues so they can prep for a career in baseball.

No. Not true

Exactly half of the first 40 players from the 2015 MLB draft came from college. Recently, MLB teams are drafting more and more college players because they carry less risk. Many players are recognizing this fact.

Another year for uc to kill everyones rpi. 07-coffee3

People do it to us in basketball, we do it in baseball. What goes around...

Difference, however, is twofold:

1) Basketball actually makes the conference money, and not getting teams into the tourney because some teams schedule brutally affects everyone in the conference by losing out on shared NCAA credits.

2) At least UC actually schedules tough. They lose a lot, but take a look at the teams we play. Can't blame us for not trying to play against good teams. Our SOS was 49 last year and likely will be just as high this year.

Every football and baseball thread always turns to uc fans talking basketball. I can't stop laughing at this one trick pony, still no invite huh? I guess finishing 6th in the big boy sport and averaging 30,000 fans doesn't interest Texas. I guess seeing the basketball powerhouse get beat by little old Tulsa who doesn't belong in a conference with you just tears you apart. 07-coffee3

OMG you are so right!!! hahaha great point dude. We should just keep our mouths shut and let our teams do the talking. You guys have such better fans. I hope you guys get a P5 invite because of what great fans you all have.

I love college baseball and assuming Memphis qualifies, I will back at the championship tournament in Clearwater, FL this Spring. Those of you who have not been there have missed a lot of fun - makes a nice little vacation in late May. We have an outstanding baseball conference and our fans should act accordingly.

ECU cruises to a 11-1 win over Longwood. True freshman Turner was 3-3 with a 2 run shot with second collegiate at bat. Evan Kruts threw 7 scoreless innings. All in all everything you need out of the first game of the year.

Top of 6th - UC 1 LSU 1

UC has had a pitching change. Their starter Zellner pitched very well.

The LSU pitcher has retired 12 in a row.

UC gets a 2 run double in the top of the 7th to take a 3-1 lead at LSU.

The bad news - 2 UC runners were thrown out at the plate in the inning.

Headed to the 8th at LSU. UC gets a double play in the 7th to maintain the 3-1 lead. Let's get the big upset!

UCONN lost 2-1 on a wild pitch to UTSA. 03-banghead

Some people would call that a walk-off wild pitch. 03-lmfao03-banghead03-lmfao03-banghead
