Until after Easter. God Bless.

Might make my blood pressure go down too.

This could be healthy.

See ya after Easter.

Instead of celebrating the pagan festival of easter, you should probably find out what day the actual Passover is on and celebrate THAT instead.

After all, for Christians the point here is the crucifixion and resurrection, not some stupid pagan holiday involving eggs and bunny rabbits that isn't even the same week of Passover.

is why that train of thought came into play.....

Mach's a teacher, so he's off next week. Can you imagine how many posts he has loaded up on his notepad? This board is going to be "all Mach, all day" for a week.

But I'm guessing you'll be pretty busy with the Triduum.

It worth noting that the Pagans celebrated lent for 40 days until Easter.

The custom was the you abstain from sex for 40 days, then get drunk have have orgies with as many people as possible on easter to celebrate the fertility god. The whole point of easter was centered around fertility and orgies.

Thats why the symbol of Easter is bunny rabbits. The rabbit is a symbol, of fertility.

4000 years later, Hugh Hefner gave us the playboy bunnies. His symbol is the bunny.

The 4000 year old tradition lives on today, now married to the crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus thanks to Rome. Most Christians worldwide celebrate the Resurrection on Easter without question. They bake cakes, decorate easter eggs, share chocolate bunnies and have easter egg hunts. And its all centered around the children.

We have so much to be proud of when we stand before God on the last day. <sarcasm>

They still happen today, although it is now on the Monday after Easter. The bacchanal is now called Dyngus Day. Just book a flight to Buffalo for Monday's celebration. I'll meet you at Talty's Irish Bar. (Talty's on Dyngus Day)

Dyngus Day

The Jews sacrificed a Lamb on Passover for 1500 years BEFORE Jesus, unknowingly foreshadowing the fact that they would have the LAMB of God, Jesus Christ crucified on PASSOVER 1500 years later.

You lasted a whole 2 hours before breaking that Lenten promise. Why is that not surprising?

No. That was healthy though for me and that was a sacrifice of sorts for me. This year I am giving up clutter. If I haven't used it in a year it is getting thrown out or sold.

You made it about two days after this one. I wonder how long your Russia boycott will last?
