Transfer U - Game 2
We'd better get after it. Sean, Hunter, and (maybe) Jack, I'm talking to you. Snatch some rebounds and go at these guys.

Losing two in a row is unacceptable if we hope to win 3 straight in Baltimore.

We're favored by 3.5 in case, you know, anyone cares about today's game.

I have a feeling we will play well today. Have to team rebound and run. Let's hit our free throws, and get Dixon going again. Rebounding is THE key today!

I predict we'll rebound and win (pun intended)

Hopefully Terry Tarpey will find his offense and we do not let them push us around .

RE: Transfer U - Game 2
Byron Hawkins has missed the last two games due to injury. Don't know if he will play today, but he is their best outside scoring threat. If he can't go, the load will again fall to Mike Morsell to score from the outside and John Davis from the wings, to open up the inside for Adala Moto and Parker Rivera.
Of course, we already know that their best shot on offense is the putback of their missed shots, so rebounding is key as well.

Some places have taken this game off the books, so it may be that Hawkins and others are going to sit out (Whitman?).

In today's WSJ, p.A12, there is a fascinating article about a new type of player. We have, potentially, one of these players. I encourage you to read this article and comment.

Any rundown for those of us who don't subscribe to the wsj?

The article deals with a new type of player who is position less. They can play anywhere. Why? Because of their wingspans and their hands. The two best examples are Draymond Green and Kawhi Leonard. Another component is their ability to guard their counterpart at whatever position they are placed. Leonard will be assigned to Durant, Curry, and James as the Spurs progress through the playoffs.
As to the player on our roster who comes closest to fitting this trend; I'll leave that up to you.

I read the article in the Wall Street Journal this morning and immediately thought of Terry Tarpey who has unusually long arms, which help him in rebounding, stealing the ball, and creating mayhem in general.

RE: Transfer U - Game 2
Our three returning leaders are all examples of this to a lesser degree. Omar can play almost anywhere on offense, Daniel can match up 1-4 and Terry can cover 2-5. Tarpey gets exposed one on one by quick guards, which is why we're lucky to have Dixon to cover the opponents' best guard.

I'll continue beating the drum: our offense is certainly our strength, but I feel like we leave points on the board when we don't start the offense by seeing if Daniel or Omar has a mismatch. In almost all games, at least one of those two will have a defender that either can't stop the drive or can't stop the post up. Both guys can score in the post, and when they're marked by guards they have an advantage. I think the biggest reason Daniel's slump is continuing is that he's trying to shoot his way out from beyond the arc, not getting to the rim to get his rhythm back.

Stretch is really choppy today for me. Couple of good possessions to start, but we're letting them get open looks.

Looks pretty sloppy right now. Two quick fouls on their best player is good for us.

Towson playing physically and we're not getting calls. That's not good news.

Shot selection has not been very good thus far. A lot of wild shots.
