Matt Johnson had 8 in 87 attempts. Of course, that boosted his completion rate to 63% so that's something.

Can you refer to FAU and FIU as what they are called. The F_U is lazy and ignorant.

Complaining about it isn't going to help, the people that use name smack know what they're doing.
I guess you're right, but when you went to a low tier University in a state that is 51st in education (If you include D.C.) and third in obesity you need something to hang onto.

Litton will end up having the best season of all cusa QBs this year. Id say over 4000 yards, 35 tds and < 8 INTs. Gonna be a huge jump.

I think a lot of USM fans look at FAU and FIU as the successors to UCF / USF. That's not going to win you any points. We were nice to their fans and, by the time we wanted to shower them with derision, they were gone. I think we're just trying to get ahead of the curve this time.

Well, I don't bear you any ill will, I'm just trying to give you some context. USM fans have this jealousy of more developed markets. I wonder if it ever occured to them that Orlando was just a swamp before they decided to build Disney World. There's no reason Mississippi can't become more developed. You look at the state flag, though, and it's apparent that's just not a priority. So, we mock those for whom it is a priority... like Tulane fans laughing at how football-obsessed LSU is. In my mind, there's a happy medium to be struck, but Americans aren't good at that lately.

Back onto the proper topic, I don't think Higgins will be the starter for Tech at all in the Fall. If he is, expect us to do poorly. I'm sure hes a great guy, but he has done nothing to show that he deserves that starting spot imo. These kind of rankings really are extremely pointless, but hey great water cooler material.

E_sy, e_sy, guys. _f you w_ll g_ve me _ ch_nce, _ w_ll expl__n.

When posting this list, i did not cut and paste. I typed the list from scratch. I glanced back twice and typed the list from memory. In my memory, I HONESTLY couldn't differentiate between the two schools. My first thought was to go back and fix it, but then I thought I would stir the pot by leaving it as it was as an homage to those who use the _ insult almost exclusively when referring to either of these schools.

Regarding name smack, I think that the humor of referring to both schools as F_U pales in comparison to my favorite, which is to refer to each of you distinctly (i.e., Florida Ocean and Florida Airport).

I didn't expect such a strong reaction, as I didn't know that either school had any fans (or at least any who speak or read English). Besides, if either of you would do anything to distinguish yourselves from the other schools in FL that the football world does not know or care about, then we wouldn't be having this problem.

Again, I wish that I had a reason to differentiate between you guys (or care to learn), but you each have yet to provide me one.

The problem with that is the fact despite years of success you're in the same place as your were then.
You take shots at the new schools moving up, but if you were have to take one program 20 years from now you're taking FAU and FIU.
The same way UCF whipped right past you.
In the end you have been playing football 50 years before FAU even became a school yet we are in the same spot.
That says more about than us.
So it's Mr. Florida Atlantic to you bud.

So, Mr. Florida Atlantic, in what P5 conference do you see your Owls (or Panthers, or whatever) ending up in in, say, the next 50 years?

We are where we are BECAUSE of where we are. OUR history + YOUR location would have us exactly where we desire to be in the hierarchy of college football. Despite your market advantage and desirable location, you will not surpass the G5 level of college football. Congratulations on reaching our level. Get used to it. There is a greater chance that you will float off into the ocean than move "up."
