RE: NBA realignment
I wasn't really being serious about contraction, they're not gonna contract anyone at this point, especially the only team in an entire country and large market.

Things are fine the way they are except the T'Wolves' hope for someone to move west to push them east or vice versa to push the Bucks west.

Move Memphis to the East, contract Toronto and Charlotte.

Charlotte isn't going anywhere... the only reason the Hornets moved the first time was their owner trying to fleece the city. Now, when they returned as the Bobcats first... that was a token expansion team if I ever saw one. North Carolina has too great of a college basketball tradition to be without a pro team.

Seattle seems a no-brainer. They had a LONG history with the Super Sonics/ Sonics. The Vancouver Grizzles didn't go over well so I doubt any western Canadian city gets another shot.

That said, if the KC, Las Vegas, and a few other rumors are true... I wonder how the flip side of NHL rumors to those same cities factor into bids.... I mean, if a city out west that was looking to score a pro team a NHL/NBA shared arena play could make good business sense.

RE: NBA realignment
I heard that 1 of the Seattle NHL groups was holding out for an NBA tenant.

The Bobcats did have some serious attendance issues years back though, so it's not absurd to suggest it.

Vancouver was just fine, they just needed a little more time imo. That said, I doubt the NBA goes back there. But again I say, no more new teams.

The Bobcats were a token expansion team as a bone throw to have a minority owner in the NBA and to get back on the good side of NBA fans in NC. With the change back to the Hornets and some decent moves of late they are getting back to being respectable again in the NBA.

They sure did pull the plug fast on that team while Toronto stayed around...

RE: NBA realignment
Steve Francis ruined the Grizzlies. With him and Big Country, they could have become something legit.
