20-4 is not an improvement??? What planet are you residing on?

Against top 250 teams, whats the signature win? Upstate?

Complete trolling at this point. Dee I don't know what happened to you. I love your recruiting posts but this stuff on the main board is beyond bizarre

We were ranked in the AP poll under Davis for a grand total of 2 weeks in 2010.

In his 4th season right? Under Haase what we got one vote for two weeks.

We're 20-4 and projected to win our tournament and get into the NCAAs. If we don't win that, we have the highest chance of winning the regular season conference championship and getting into the NIT over anyone else in CUSA right now. CUSA is is in dumpster fire mode, but our program is in better shape at this moment than any of the other 13 teams in our conference...so be grateful for that.

Davis didn't even make the NCAAs in his first 4 years. Nor did he ever win an NCAA game in 6 years and got blown out by a bad Clemson team in a play-in game. The UAB team you're talking about being ranked ended up in the NIT.

As horrible as our SOS is to look at, we've still won 20 games and 3 of our 4 losses were very, very close and could've just as well gone our way. Not much else can be done now about getting an auto-bid or being ranked so there's no point really harping on it this year. Yes, I agree with you sometimes that Haase does weird things and is still honestly learning coaching, but he still has us at 20-4 on the season and poised to make some postseason noise possibly. Just enjoy where we are right now.

Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if Haase can manage the amazing feat of having us in the AP poll for 2 weeks between now and the next 2 years 03-razz.

How many cusa tournament wins did Davis have in that time? I'll hang up and listen.

Haase has won as many CUSA tournament championships as Davis won CUSA tournament games in Davis' 6 years.

Haase in 3 years did something it took Davis 5 years to do: make the NCAA tournament. He also did something Davis never did: won an NCAA game & with the 3rd youngest team in the NCAA.

Having post-season success > making a 1-week appearance in the top 25. Can't believe we're having this discussion.

We all know that 16-15 team got lucky, the tournament was Bham. Played a team that over looked them.

Our ASN announcers exactly backed up your statement on Thursday night. The play by ay man said how lost our guys were on offense with Nick out of the game.

He's the only true pg. Play Baxter at point then see what happens.

So you don't appreciate Denzel Watts as a PG ?

I enjoy watching this team more than any Davis coached team.
That said, I always find joy in watching the Blazers!
If the players give great effort, I will enjoy watching them!

They've won twenty games. Three of the four losses were close.

All they can do is play the games on the schedule. You know as well as I do how much flux the entire athletic department was in while trying to negotiate games. The teams that they were trying to get a game with had no assurance what conference we would be in or what our RPI would be. Sure, I'd have rather that the wins started the run down in Florida, but that wasn't how it broke.

For whatever reason the team started off slow. Haase got the ship righted and they have played very well since. Can I pick nits about individual games? Sure. Bottom line is that this team got to twenty wins faster than any other UAB team ever. He must be doing something right.

Next year we're going to have a different scheduling problem, because teams are going to fear us. That's a better problem to have.

Take this show on the road next year and play somebody. Im not entirely sure we fixed the problems that stopped us from advancing last year. We have potentially ten games left right? Kinda ready to see how it plays out as it will be the most impressive/ important thing about the season.

Dee I don't understand your thought process. Last year alone made Haase's tenure better than Davis's. Haase could never win another postseason game at UAB and he has already surpassed what Mike Davis was able to do. He has also out recruited Mike Davis. He has also made sure the team has done well academically. Haase isn't perfect, and I've definitely been hard on him, but give him credit when it's due.

I do agree we need to go on the road in the OCC next season. Having a respectable loss to a big time program in their house will probably do more to help our case than beating another USC Upstate.

RE: Champlin: Dirk Williams turned things around academically, returned home to shine...
We play in the CBE Hall of Fame tournament with Georgia, George Washington and Kansas next year. We played in Atlantis last year. This year we played in a tournament that was expected to put us up against Iowa State. We played on the road against Illinois State (a team that has traditionally been a good mid major). Stephen Austin was expected to be a strong mid major this year. We play them on the road next year.

It's obvious that Haase's scheduling goal is to get us in strong pre-conference tournaments. Sometimes it gets us good matchups. Sometime it doesn't.

Most teams, you can't predict who will be good RPI games from year to year. The teams you can predict, we can't get games with. Deal with it.

Hopefully one day soon, because i truely believe it can happen at UAB but to be the best you gotta beat the best.

I still can't figure out why Smallwood isnt playing.

Four fouls in 9 minutes might be your first clue.

He's not playing because he's not developed enough to crack the rotation yet. He needs to add 20-30lbs of muscle and get used to the American style.

Lol there have been numerous games where the big three fowards were close to fouling out.
