OT: Louisville, Kevin Keatts, and UNCW
Disclaimer: I am a Kentucky Wildcats fan by birth, and as such, have been instructed my whole life that the UofL is a hive of scum and villainy, and Rick Pitino is the Antichrist.
Today the University of Louisville announced they are self-imposing a 1 year postseason ban on their men's basketball team, amid an NCAA investigation into a recruiting scandal. The allegations include claims that from 2010 to 2014, Louisville basketball staffer Andre McGee hired women to strip and have sex with Louisville players and recruits on-campus, and that some of the women were under the age of 18. Today's announcement represented the first time that the UofL has acknowledged that the claims, first brought to light by one of the escorts/madams, have at least some validity, with the university president stating that it is "reasonable to conclude violations have occurred in the past". Unfortunately, the CAA is not isolated from this disgrace - UNCW head coach Kevin Keatts was an assistant coach at Louisville from 2011 to 2014, and as his UNCW bio states, his chief responsibility was recruiting. I really hope he wasn't involved, but this really doesn't look good - I have a hard time believing that one of Louisville's chief recruiters had no idea what was going on for 5 years in the basketball team's own dorm.

Looks like it was a good thing Keatts left Louisville for UNCW when he did

Follow the money.....How does a graduate assistant have the money to supply parties and sex for recruits and players (and even their guardians/parents) for four years (the latter two years as director of operations). Unfortunately, it starts at the top in all organizations, especially a small one. Whether Pitino knew or not, it was his responsibility to know and establish outside expectations. If UL was serious about correcting the situation, Pitino would have stepped down, as opposed to a self-imposed, one year post season ban announced in the media shadow of Super Bowl weekend. Always has been a party town.
It may or may not have any reflection on Keatts, especially in light that it started a year before Keatts arrival. Hope not, for his and UNCW's sake. Certainly a learning curve for him to understand that a head coach has to be all knowing.

I would be surprised if Keatts was involved. He's a quality person, and it certainly isn't in line with his character.
