If this has any validity at all -- not looking real good for the homefront.
Probably has to do with with the fact we are playing at a high school stadium.

Or that we are a brand new program with no history to sell the kids on, probably a bit of each.

Yes it is a process and we are progressing through it. The new stadium is a large part of it. A lot of athletes want to go to an established, winning program that can play for the post season playoffs.

It's funny, though, southern pigskin doesn't even mention Monroe as one of our highlights. So other than looking to see how many stars a recruit has, I'm not sure how much goes into these rankings. Probably about like the preseason polls, they're typically based on last year's records.

With that said, I'm sure everyone including me would be talking about how accurate and great this list was if ETSU were up near the top, LOL.

I noticed some of the big LCD billboards in JC yesterday showed some of the Signing Day recruit information.

RE: Nat'l Signing Day
They completely left off three of our recruits. I don't know how many other SoCon coaches were interviewed, but they interviewed the Chatt coaches. They didn't interview ETSU coaches. ETSU didn't sign a QB and Rating services put a lot of emphasis on QB's.

Taking nothing away from Chatt, they had a very good recruiting class but ETSU's recruiting was directed at specific positions, unlike the first two classes, and the coaches seemed very pleased with our recruits. At the news conference the coaches said their were only four targeted kids that we didn't sign and all four went to FBS schools.

ETSU held back several scholarships for possible juco's, transfers or kids decommitting between now and fall practice. So it is very possible the Bucs will add to the 2016 class.

IMO the height, weight and speed of the 2016 class was impressive. If you haven't viewed the video highlights of the players, go ETSUBUCS.com....Signing Day Central.

I think those rankings are flat out stupid. While I was watching Socon recruiting Wednesday I would have surely included Western Carolina in the top 3 in classes and this article has them at 6... Second FCS rankings are quite stupid since most of these guys are defiantly not close to being fully developed. Lastly, ETSU has the best facilities in the Socon to develop any and all of our recruits.

RE: Nat'l Signing Day
I agree, THAT was a good idea. I am sure a couple of the local recruits who went elsewhere are a bit envious.
