Oregon is a football school and has virtually ZERO in-state talent. Altman would absolutely kill it here. Oregon has some serious $$$, however. Wish I knew what the buyout would be for Altman AND if he would be interested.

To be fair Altman has had 10 top 50 on his schedule compared to our 2.

That's 8 fewer losses for Josh, though.

What in the world makes you think he would be interested? A guy that has been at Oregon for years and years.

Or why is this comparable in anyway? Did you just pick this out of a hat? Altman has been coaching since 1982 so he might have a few years on a lot of coaches. We could do this for a number of schools and have the same results.

This is his 6th year at Oregon. My point in posting this is that it is impressive.

Prior to taking the Oregon job, he did spend about 27 hours as the Arkansas coach, until he went to sleep after accepting the job and having nightmares of the calling of the hogs at the press conference the night before.

Im sure he's dying to leave a winnable P5 conference with Nike money to come here...

It is my general belief that no coach in a winning P5 situation would seriously consider this job. Act like it to get a raise? Sure...but they aint coming.

Ya, he took the job, showed up and performed one Hog call and then looked at the APR and roster nightmare left behind by Stan Heath and bolted back to Creighton...

My thoughts exactly. This would be a step down.

All credit goes to Josh Pastner and the boosters that gave him that extension. He's made a ton of better coaches and their agents that much richer

I got real excited until I looked at his record. 22 years and he has made it as far as the Sweet 16 exactly once. I thought our standards were to hire something better than what we have. This ain't better at best it's more of the same.

We need to evaluate our standards. Our next hire isnt going to have a better resume than Josh or Altman. We have to sell potential and hope.

Unless we can lure Buzz away from the pit that is VT...
