The name might not be familiar, but the former starting QB at Oregon State (as a Freshman!!) has announced he is transferring. Just doing some digging on twitter I found he has recently followed almost all of the current NIU staff and they are following him as well. Not to read to much into it, however, anytime the verified NIU Football account on twitter follows a player, they are either committed, signed, or has a good chance in coming to NIU.

RE: Seth Collins
This would be great if it materializes. Watched a a couple games he started (for betting purposes) and he wasn't the most accurate passer but great playmaker and fun to watch. And only a true freshman, so maybe the passing accuracy could get better. I think he would be a perfect fit for our offense. If he transferred here and sat out a year, would that make him only a redshirt sophomore in the fall of 2017?

I dunno...

NIU football follows 2300 ( not all are recruits obviously).

And this kid is from California and all the schools he was interested in were out west except for BC.

This sounds like a next generation Demetrius Jones story to me. Hope it doesn't turn out that way!

RE: Seth Collins
This would be some much needed assurance for our QB situation even though he would have to sit out a year!

Would that be the 3rd or 4th QB this year?

It would be only the 2nd for this class, possibly 3rd. The only QB committed in this class is Anthony Thompson and we are waiting to hear back from the recent offer given to Kato Nelson. If Pearson signs with NIU, then I think we have a good shot at landing Nelson since they seem to be good friends.

Kenny Golladay
Faustin wasn't half bad same for Demetrius Stone

Not necessarily big names but productive. Golladay is a star, though. Ben Compton was also pretty productive.

Wow can't believe I forgot big Ken. One of my favorite players to watch at NIU. Monster against Kent State. He's actually my roommates favorite NIU player ever. Big whiff on my part, thanks.

Fomble and Big Ken were JUCOs, a little different than pure transfers. Kenny G obviously has worked out as a transfer.

If we're excluding JUCO's, then the two best are probably Johnson & Golladay. Tommie Mister's success is still TBD. Who else is there?

Cameron Bell
Anthony Maddie
Giorgio Bowers
Michael Cklamovski
Jordan Delegal (went to NC State, then to JUCO)
