Yes I know others posted this joke, but I went to the trouble of getting the picture.

Doesn't look like a very friendly meeting. But then I don't think anyone got hurt.

Knights Templar? Does that mean Miko is Tom Hanks and he is solving the puzzles and codes to interpret this for us?

Additional speculation is that KU and ISU are heading to the B1G. This news is much less certain.

Did this ironclad information come from the Monitor or the Merrimack (Virginia)?

You obviously didn't read the thread. I posted that first and then Bullet. That makes you number 3.

The third time is the "charm"!

Tech's stock has dropped with the ascent of Baylor & TCU.

Utah & Colorado are solid no expansion. It's just not in their best interest.

The PAC for years was too small and this allowed the WAC/MWC to get too good. Going to 12 has changed the dynamic out west with a huge gap now between the two conferences.

Baylor and TCU are religious affiliated schools. That's a non-starter for PAC consideration. Also, the PAC needs and desires to get into the CST zone for improved viewership. Plus expanding the footprint doesn't hurt either. Finally, no one cares about what Utah and Colorado thinks. Those 2 schools will not be allowed to hold the PAC back for selfish reasons.

Quote:Fallout from the Orangebloods.com report that the Pac-10 is planning to extend invitations to Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Colorado has been immediate.

Already, the political forces in Texas are preparing to make demands that if six schools from the Big 12 are going to be invited to the Pac-10, Baylor should replace Colorado on that list, according to two sources close to the situation.

"If you're going to have an exported commodity involved in this, do you think we're going to allow a school from outside the state of Texas to replace one of our schools in the Big 12 South? I don't think so. We're already at work on this," said a high-ranking member of the Texas Legislature who asked not to be identified.

The source said there is a block of 15 legislators who will work to make sure Baylor - not Colorado - is invited to the Pac-10.

"If the Pac-10 wants Texas, and we know they do, they may have to take all of our Texas schools," the source said, adding that Texas Tech has also benefited from political inclusion on the invite list.

Miko all the PAC cares about is taking Texas.

They'd have no problem taking Baylor if politics dictated and I'd throw TCU into that list who is a former conference mate of Utah.

I don't think Utah, Colorado and Arizona want to be dominated on the football field by OU/OSU. They might be more interested in Baylor/TCU while strong are second tier football programs.

Yea they'd have a problem taking a school like Baylor, it's a religion institution and not in line with the culture of the West. If there was any precedent theyd have taken byu instead of Utah. The fact that you suggest two sectarian institutions discredits yourself on this particular subject.

No I just don't buy it.

Baylor is Baptist which accepted as a mainstream Christian church.

TCU is Disciples of Christ which is a mainline denomination.

When you get into religious institutions that are outside of the mainstream christian churches then it becomes a problem. Fundamentalist churches. Religious affiliated colleges are not a problem.

TCU and Baylor are schools for rich kids like SMU.

Unless a private college is a Science & Technology college in almost all cases it has a religious affiliation.

C'mon man, the pac 12 has two non-sectarian private schools in Stanford and USC. Baylor and tcu wouldn't fit because of their dominational stances on certain issues, they're a cultural misfit. Not only that but they don't carry enough gravitas to convince pac 12 leaders that they're worth the endeavor. To say any different is just wild speculation
